  1. Prices for the snoex units are available on the net, but seem quite expensive for the more useable units. I'm sure i saved a site but cant find it, so il have to get back to you on that one. As for costs, i'v decided that it's going to be my day rate + salt + fuel costs, any other way makes it pointless. Mark

Thank god mine have left an getting on with there own lives, been there an dun that many times..........kids grown up into good citizens.........no trouble, but there own identities, i think its good that this is obviously an emotive issue, for the record i come out on APs side, but would never condone violence against teachers or others.......I just stood my ground, and had reasoned argument with the teachers, sometimes I won sometimes I didn't but I'm glad I did it in the end because it developed a REAL respect for me and my family from the teachers an vice versa

  16. I know of 1 full log business in my area, and I believe he does very well, my thougts are can you make a return doing it on the side, as when i sell logs from my arisings it basically covers costs.......not profit, but thats because i'm not set up to process on a large scale, and I only sell to existing clients really.......
  17. 2001 mate, i did it through a previous employer, and Millhouse training in Skelmersdale. My CS 30/31/32 are NPTC, but because it was cheaper going down the Lantra route, I was told to do that !!
  18. When i did my climbing ticket a few moons ago , I did it with lantra as a combined course and assessement. The course was initially Tree climbing with aerial rescue, which we did and it took a week, but those of us on the course understood it to be using the saw in the tree, and so after some complaints and arguments we were offered another course free of charge which was - Tree climbing with aerial rescue including use of chainsaw in the tree. So we did this, and passed and got the tickets.......so in total i did 2 sets of training.....at the time LANTRA and NPTC was in competition if you like, and it was considered that the Lantra route was sort of a lesser ticket, but still as valid. Question: Where do I now stand in terms of certification ? I would like to do a CS 40/41, but pre reqs are 38/39, do my tickets count ? I wouldn't really want to do 38/39 again as such, as money is tight, so selecting useful training is even more important......... Any thoughts peeps........... Mark
  19. Still waiting to hear on this one................

  21. I post out flyers amte, and its been very successful. Whenever i get a quite time, I do a leaflet drop, i allways get work from them. As long as you go for a professional, well designed flyer, good quality paper etc then you will stand apart from the gypo's. I designed my own (another career as a graphic designer many years ago ), got 10,000 printed, and post them out myself. Look at your target market, and work from there. I also have ads in Thomson local, yell.com and just started using google adwords, but i can allways reley on the leaflets. best of luck, Mark
