  13. oh dear..............................I saw a farmer sharpen like that once, he then got his mate to lift him up on a manitou, and took a limb of a tree..........nearly took him, his mate and 4 cars out !!!!!!!!!! It was great, Mark
  14. A few years ago back when i was a Countryside Officer I was aked to go and see this bloke who had phoned the office about some cats or something ??? So I goes over, finds the address, just on the outskirts of Skelmersale so relatively built up. I knocks on the door and this chap answers and lets me in. The conversation goes on about him and his wife waking up a day or so ago, he opens the bedroom curtains and WOW !!!!!!!!!! there in his back garden is what looks like a small tiger !!!!!!!!!!!!, at this point I sort off think a few too many whiskys might have passed his lips the night before.........until he says, come outside, its left some prints in the dirt so we go outside and make our way over to the border and They aint no pussy cat tracks !!!!!!! I studied the tracks in great detail........not domestic cat of any size, not dog, not fox or badger or deer..............very, very feline..........in the end i sort of narrowed it down to a Lynx or Ocelot. There had been previous sightings of wild cats around the area in the past, but usually explained away by the authorities.........i wasnt entirely convinced until i saw those prints, now im totally convinced they are about........eecking an existance on the fringes........... Mark
  15. Hello mate,

  19. Always looking for cheaper alternatives, but not at the cost of safety thats all
  20. No ime not arguing against not buying the right kit, god im not affraid of spending money on kit !!!!!! it was a general inquiry, about wether there are alternatives and who uses them..........yes things are expensive, especially for what they are, but if you have to heve them then you get them. Mark
  21. I have an surefire E2D, fantastic torch, £150 when i bought it, its 250 lumens or sumat like, ideal for nite shooting. Ive also got a Olight M20 warrior, with rail and pressure switch, again a great lite, slightly wider beam than the surefire but just as strong. In the van iv got a Jetbeam PA40, this is a carbon composite body, lite and strong, a massive 468 lumens, absolutely brilliant torch. Mark
  22. Now thats what im talkin about, I know the DMM an ISC are the dogs, but before they existed, people must have been using other types or adapted types, the new ones have been developed for our industry, but we borrowed a lot from elsewhere and they must work ! Mark
  23. Are there any viable (cheaper:001_tongue:) alternatives to using ISC or DMM pulleys, these are expensive custom arb kit, but there are plenty of rated pully's on the market that are not specifically arb intended.......I like the pedigree of ISC and DMM, but dont like the cost, especially for kit thats not used a lot, any thoughts or ideas, or is anyone using a non arb pulley ????? Mark
  24. Jeez that sounds fine !!!!!! Am in the market for renewal myself so guess wot i'me doing tommorrow ha ha Mark
