  1. nothing special just a a couple pics from part of todays work, 3 cherrys to be thinned and reduced they had been hacked before, so no alot of foot holds or a trusty anchor point but no matter they were only small.
  2. looks like a top job that all nice and level looks a solid fence aswell that
  3. im also with them great price and thats also why i use them
  4. yes i see what you mean ill have to have a word if it happens again. cheers
  5. nope lol i no we only just fitted are landy in drive though its one of them old towns with tiny streets and very tight drive ways.
  6. i no what you mean its cause im only 19 and hes 30 something been doing it since he was 16 same as me. hes much more experienced i dont like to tell him what to do if you no what i mean.
  7. cut and chuck could have been a option for most of it part from they didnt want any dents in the lawn, you wouldnt have been haveing morning brew and going onto next job though since there there was 2 full loads of chip and 2 full loads of timber. takes over a hour for each trip to take a load.
  8. i shall do reg im sure it will come. not me who has to worry about useing it day to day im always up the tree. good solid device though just what i was looking for in a lowering device.
  9. yes top pulley was right at the top and bout 3ft below it was the 2nd pulley. reason was so i didnt have to keep tieing and untieing it for each branch. regs way with pulley right ontop will definetly give you more control and less chance of the butt kicking backtowards climber. if i was to do the job again i would ideally do it with the pulley right ontop of branch i feel that will give more control and be alot safer for the climber and loading on the tree.
  10. definetly well worth trying it out on small stuff first. i wouldnt like to say much about it since ive gone from average capstan to this device. so i havent got any experience of other devices, but from useing it twice so far its much better than a capstan, solid and well made, the pre-tension arm is abit fiddley thats the only badish thing i could say about it but maybe thats because im not used to it only time will tell. im sure plenty of guys on here who have more feedback on it.
  11. cheers reg i found that out after the first branch when it came back missed me but i learned and the others went just as i planned. i shall tell the groundie your advice on the wraps. i used the POV software saved it on my computer then loaded it up on youtube took half hour. is there a quicker way?
  12. yes they were surspended for ages due to the fact were not used to useing the device yet with how many wraps etc, i could have just used one rope easy done it in the day, but for the added minute to stick another line on it was worth it if you ask me. all the limbs i took off with the 2 ropes folked off and you can easily judge them wrong with just one rope and they can flip and come right back at you. still people work in different ways.
  13. on long limbs going over houses sheds etc. because you can just cut it off in one swing it away from what its over. would save you haveing to take little bits at a time as you would have to without the two ropes system.
  14. yer i no what you mean, when its one the portawrap he usually gets the right amount of wraps, but with this being his first time useing the device he was sticking far to many wraps on.
  15. on that job maybe a tad quicker, mainly just saved me alot of hassle in tree, but on certain jobs i reackon will save a hell of a lot of time being able use two ropes.
  16. thanks, yer it does work well i cant wait to try it out on some big limbs
  17. just a little blue cedar from today, two loads of chips. going back for two loads of timber tomorow. the first time ive tryed the possibilitys of the new stein rc3002 dual with the two ropes at a time etc. heres a couple of pics anyways first pic was taken at breakfast, second pic was when we packed up at half 3 the stem is being left at that height for a tree house and climbing frame. shame was such a drive from the yard or we could have finished it today but takeing two loads of chips took most the day away. enjoy the video quality might be abit rubbish till it processes on youtube. 19. depends wat job is most the time i just used a bowline and prussik personalt prefrence. but just desided to give the lockjack sport a real go and see if i get on with it.
  20. one thing i noticed was your gates on your karabiners are faceing the same way, try and remember to have gates not next to each other.
  21. but surely if you have the same engine pumping a 42" chain its got alot more drag than same engine pumping it round a 20" bar.
  22. well you may well be right. im just thinking since the chain hasnt got to travel as far its going to go faster surely. think about it on a bigger scale 42" bar for the husky 3120 will that chain will go same speed as if you put a 20" bar on the 3120 well maybe im wrong i dont mind either way
  23. middle fingers 85mm and third finger 80mm
