  1. im likeing that idea alot that would be perfect. how ever dunno if they would manage to make such a thing, plus if they did im sure it wouldnt be cheap.
  2. take delivery of mine on friday, cant wait just need a good tree put it through its paces
  3. sounds like top notch cambium saver for less than a tenner so far to me
  4. were chargeing them extra for what we did cause it was a good few hours of real horrible work, so we wont loose out really, were doing other job tomorow so there not fussed really.
  5. hmmm was a lovly day out, was raining aswell then we had to cancel next job we was going to cause wouldnt have enough time for it. ooo well such is life.
  6. tell me about it 4 hawthorn all round reductions and de-ivy today was only ment to do 2 of them, till they said you couldnt just do them 2 aswell make it worse the ones we had just done, couldnt cut them 2 foot further down could you
  7. there isnt a little pulley the size of little swing cheek pulley to my knowlage on the market, with instead of a eye to clip the krab into but instead a connecter of some sort. would be handy if there was.
  8. problem you would have with that is retrieveing it. with a swing cheek pulley the rope gets caught in that but the dmm revolver that you mentioned its bigger than the big ring.
  9. shame you cant get a pulley with a tiny screw gate attached as part of it or something similar would work a treat with something like that.
  10. was free cause i had all left overs to make it, but about 2quid for 6mm cord for the prussik then about 4quid for the 10mm rope couple meters worth and i dunno if you can buy the rings.
  11. cheers i looked at buying one but there ALOT of money, so desided simple was best. easy to make and does exactly the same. i might even lose the small ring and stick a mallon and a small swing cheek pulley on instead.
  12. been having a sort out of my climbing bag tonight. desided to finally get round to cutting my really long cambium saver to get the rings and make my self a simple adjustable one. and got round to making my self a weightless lanyard 9mm line and 6mm cord since im getting quite a few reductions now.
  13. husky combi cans for me and 3 other companys i know all use them round here. there well thought out and bullet proof apart from some of the older ones the fuel cap sticks open.
  14. only time ive had another climber with me was when we was at college, and it does work really well i thought. i wish i could do it more day to day so much quicker.
  15. cheers, yep they do unfortunatly and if we did what was best they wouldnt pay up cause they havent got there moneys worth.
  16. yer i thought some people might get confused with that lol but there we are. not the perfect shape but they wanted it done exactly where was done before sooo.
  17. sure you will work it out youve got a talent for makeing stuff with timber
  18. nice work target trees lovely grain on that cedar any ideas what your going to make with the timber?
  19. willow re-pollard today easy day cut and drop everything nice day for it apart from it being very windy.
  20. glad to hear i didnt make the vid for nothing is he wishing it was him up the trees crashing bits off yet
  21. think its working now i was in rush, just uploaded it and posted it before i went out.
  22. after my thread where i cleared up one of the main stems of a beech had blown over. we were back again today to remove the remaining stem climbed spiked up got to the top and it didnt feel right, so i swung across into the next tree along and stuck my rope in that one then swung back, took me 25mins get up tree and 40mins to get the tree all ringed down. had bit of breakfast split all the wood by hand and ended up with 4 loads of split beech home by 1pm. reason for not straight fell was some of branches would catch the next trees possibly get hung up. plus old fence which has a big dent in it from the storm damage and didnt want to add to it. all comments welcome. enjoy. 23. thats exactly what i feel like i have to do, otherwise theres always little wispy bits that stick out a little bit which really bother me lol
  24. takes alot of skill to get all the shape so perfect top job
  25. another little willow reduction as usual they wanted it harshly cut back off garage and towards there house, but think it turned out into a nice shape, horrible day for getting round the tree. really windy and peeing it down with rain and no branches till tips and loads of moss made for quite a slippery half days work. still all good fun.
