  6. looked like a nice job there ian, i can imagine how hot it was exposed on a pine that weekend. had my loler test today, and since UK loggers is this weekend thought with the amount of shows etc i compete in. i thought id make my self a portable chest to take all my saws and or climbing stuff. needs the finishing touches like need put wheels on, cover sides in the chequer plate and couple handles other than that its good to go. only posting pics as i remember a thread a while back saying cant young people do practical stuff anymore. well im 19, 20 tomorow and my parents couldnt put up a shelf to save there life. any thoughts on it are welcome
  7. maybe im just common, but business cards are bits of card with details on why pay for a shiney one i dont see the point thats why i buy standard cards. have thought about pro sign writeing but i like the fact with the magnetic ones i can take on and off in 2 seconds. if i had a truck i wouldnt want to be useing them on that id agree with you on that makeing it look cheap, thats where you want pro sign writeing. but for a work and social car i like the fact i can have them on or not as and when i choose.
  8. the people who see them could be anyone had a number of jobs from them. any customer is better than no customer. all companys ive climbed for since ive got them, are getting some done most people seem to like them. and to answer your question its my job, 90% is climbing for other companys 10% my own jobs, ive been slowly bringing my own company up since i was 16 nd since im only 19 now cheap and cheerful is all i can afford to pay out atm
  9. haha well i could have taken some pics for ya ian, but i didnt wanna ruin your chilled out week with pics of the devilish conifers
  10. im just subby climber on this one, from what i gathered on job got told tree officer and surveyor are having a tiff, the surveyor wants tree out cause its to close to house and tree officer says hes talking bull. i would have much rather felled it straight in one hit, but surveyor wants it done in 2 so who am i to argue double the money
  11. conifer bashing today until i stepped on a man hole cover (which was hidden under all the soil nd rubbish over the years of having a conifer over it) lucky it wasnt a very deep 1 only about 3/4ft deep then a blue cedar being reduced 50% and the remaining 50% to be felled in 12 months time.
  12. heres my offering maybe photoshoped would be alright.
  13. is that all it is to stick your own logo on might look into that then cheers.
  14. not as yet, reason being most my work is climbing for different companys so dont need a van, plus for jobs i get my self i have arangement with mate that i climb for, he has landy tipper nd chipper and does groundwork for me for a set price
  15. designed these on vistaprint think they were about 9quid each. would recommend them to anyone, you can upload your own logos etc and they are working a treat so far. apart from had one nicked off side when i parked car up when i went out on the booze they dont come off easy either but back on track they are very good value for money and well worth it i think. what you guys think?
  16. people do weird things maybe they can get it all on the barge and would have several trips by road only reason i can think of
  17. that oak looks like a top job to get where bouts was it? hate it when theres metal stakes still in there you no your always gunna nick the saw with it at some point
  18. hot bath full of soap flakes usually does the trick
  19. definetly the way forward rather than felling trees
  20. end of are 4 days in hampshire we got 90% of the lower stuff and coppicing done, but we got fed up with it by dinner, so we both said lets find some decent trees that need felling back again in a couple months to finish off and start other woodlands more travellodge and pub fun everynight
  21. some more pics from end of day 3. one day left to finish off the small stuff, in this woodland anyways two more woods that need the same doing to it after this one picture 1 is what we have left to do tomorow all very small easy stuff picture 2 is only decent bracket i could find in the whole wood. picture 3 is looking back on a corner of the wood we did today.
  22. wasnt very shadey after we thinned it, very sweaty work still a nice job to have. some of the best trees ive seen are in this woodland fantastic place. just wish we had a tracked chipper to play with on this job never mind. shall get more pics as job goes on
