  2. only in the short term, if you think about re reductions, and or felling when needed you will come out with more in your pocket.
  3. got to live up to my name havent i
  4. its logic, if you have the ram pushing up how is the chainsaw going to cut through that its not ideal to have him there, but i dont see how if worst came to worst the saw did kick back how it would get past a metal ram underload.
  5. hes got saw in so if it kicks back its going to go into the tree, and secondly you have a lump of metal that would stop the bar going out the back
  6. i shud reli learn to take off my rubbish videos
  7. leaning tree cut would have been my choice of cut for that, but tree went where u wanted it so alls good

  10. got asked for advice on what to do with this ash tree, i desided to advice them to reduce the tree reasons being its a great habitat, its leaning away from house onto footpath, and prevailing wind would blow it that way. also would miss the electric wires so pointless to remove it. was a hairy climb in the rain and wind today though still job done and paid by 3.30, just a tad wet.
  11. its the same with nosey neighbours telling them whats happening as brief as possible, because no matter what you do its almost never enough for most people.
  12. lime re pollards got asked climb the 1 on the left 3yrs ago this time i swaped with the guy and did the one on the right while he did the 1 on the left, heavy reduction of leaf 50% leaf taken off id say. really thinned all of the internal branches, took all end weight off cause loads of cavitys from way back when ever it was first pollarded. hit the back harder cause of neighbours wanted it away from there roof home by 3.30 jobs a good'un
  13. good luck ringing that up with that saw though
  14. just remember a neat weld isnt always a strong weld, alot of people make more effort in makeing it look neat and dont pay enough attention to if its penetrated both metals properly.
  15. to become old and wise you first have to be young and stubid love that saying.
  16. ahhh so thats a dogstooth cut is it wondered what you was all going on about lol we got taught that cut as a leaning tree cut, good cut just need make sure you leave enough wood at the back or else it will split out.
  17. saw this if its of interest to anyone old stihl going cheap looks top condition. STIHL 08 S on eBay (end time 05-Sep-10 22:17:31 BST)
  18. looks like a job well done, better than chucking it away should be done more often
  19. bent a tv areial, droped a log on silky pole saw, worse thing was big lump of beech stem about 20ft up cutting 5ft peice off had 2 groundies pulling it they couldnt pull it ended up cracking off, went backwards i dodged it and it landed onto next doors flat roof! that really hit me hard when that happened felt awful. havent had any damage so far since that 4 years on touch wood
