  1. ive got another crane dismantle to do first week in march a dead horsechestnut i priced almost a year ago. my question is my only experience with a crane is with a poplar which is a light wood. my question is how much more does horsechestnut weigh, ive told the crane guy i want 2/3 ton lift all the way to the furthest tip away. which means im getting the 55tonner in. many thanks James
  2. nice video good job well done makes job so much easier with the right kit. your in the same boat as me with the crane work then, ive got a big horsechestnut coming up in 2weeks dismantle with crane its been a year since i last used a crane, then i have another crane job after that for a black poplar to pollard.
  3. Hi there ive just bought a vermeer chipper bc625i and looked over the chipper good this weekend i found that it needs a new drive belt and ideally new set of springs for the roller still some life in them though anyways ive found its really hard to find any parts online ive emailed vermeer uk but is there anywhere else i should try ideally norfolk way Thanks James
  4. Yup i do but my opinion is mine and 2 other companys i do work with and plenty of customers who have phoned him up have agreed.
  5. turn your laptop on then you lazy old man
  6. it wouldnt meet the requirements for the tree officer at are council though he is a real t**t
  7. good job there was a fair old size for the location very tight drop zone got to love rigging conifers
  8. so today was planting the next generation of trees, instead of felling them with the husky 3120 which i much prefer got a few days on this site 4000 trees to go in, hard ground aswell clear fell site so branches stumps etc etc lovely estate though 1minute from my house used to play all around this estate when i was younger i had a friend whos dad was the head gardener there and lived in middle of the estate i could wonder around for days in here
  9. its the same form down here for tpos and conservation areas you just tick the box saying its for tpo or conservation area. i no for applications they want 2 copies of the same form exactly written out the same think they should photocopy stuff them selfs personally but hey
  10. Get on the council website that the tree is located in and find the application form for tpo and conservation area, fill it out i would phone up the local tree officer first tho say you would like to check a tree you no its in conservation area but want to no but has it got a tpo i dont no if its same for every council but here we need to fill out the forms then copy them and send in 2 identical forms its a ball ache of a process they will deside within 6weeks on arrival of application of there decision
  11. Buy cheap buy twice they say. I bet its cheaper to buy stretch airs in long run they just wont tear or rip or brake now they have sorted the zip issue.
  12. or just tie the other end to the truck and drive thats the quick way up
  13. stretch airs are definetly the most robust trousers ive ever used im yet to rip any part of the stretch airs. definetly dont go for stihl hi flexs they will rip to shreds.
  14. £399 just cause i wanna dismantle 1
  15. engage the flywheel at low revs i shall remember it
  16. the stress control seems to be working, it stops before stalling to build up the revs again before feeding again. i just got told to engage pto at low revs guy at the shop did it on full revs so i just copyed never used a chipper which you have to engage
  17. i will get that checked then. if the pressure is fine what would your next thought be? thanks
  18. it has a lever to change the roller speed that is on top speed, i did think about the springs and the roller blades but when it wont pull stuff through the rollers stop, it doesnt keep trying to pull it like a timberwolf does its weird one, maybe there all like that.
  19. on the plus side theres always alot of women wearing practically nothing wondering around
  20. so tryed it out for first time today, after being used to new timberwolfs it was bit of a change. i felt it had no guts in the roller to pull branches through. when its just wood it chips great, soon as theres branches and foliage, you almost hve to push it through the rollers youself. thats the only fault i can find with it so far, found out its dead easy to get the chute off 1 min job that. i took a video of chipping a couple of lengths of about 5inch wood and it eats it.
  21. I stil havent desided where its going yet mark it was possibley going in a garage this is in driveway real bas**rd to reverse in as its L shaped drive.
  22. think its 2001 its got a perkins diesel engine so its all good i just need get hang of it its completely different to the new twin roller timberwolfs i have always used.
  23. thought id pick up my new chipper on valentines day took all of 10hours driving to get it but she is home. got a little job for her tomorow to try her out, also herd back from a job i looked at last year big dead horsechestnut to come out crane job got that so the chipper shall be used and abused soon couple pics anyways get some better ones tomorow.
