  1. I was shocked when i herd this, ive known him since 2006 he was a top lad and very talented climber he will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
  2. Try waveney tree specialists they are good friends of mine they have massive tracked vermeer or a small hydraulic vermeer stump grinder
  3. Timberwolf 125 best little chipper on the market by far cheap, fast dual rollers, easy work on, cheap parts. Id advise buy new i recently bought 2nd hand from a chipper dealer couple weeks i had it it did 10mins work nd majorly broke so ive ordered brand new timberwolf.
  4. I dont envy you doing that hope you wrapped up with thick gloves horrible stuff to deal with
  5. went and finished parish council job today by reducing the willow i told them when i priced it 3-4m but they really wanted it to remain the same kind of tree because of its location etc so i gave it 2m maybe 3m in some places nice day for it anyways.
  6. ive always thought about buying saws etc on ebay cheap ones, non runners etc making them run right sell em on make a profit if you no what your doing easy money there.
  7. top job there gibbon video works well with the tunes
  8. parish council job reduce these birch by 1-2 meters i recommended got to go back tomorow to reduce the willow by 3-4 meters the birches were a nightmare horrible leggy nothing on the stems no growth points in right places and quite spread out in doesnt look bad at all from the pics. also had 11 phone wires on all sides of both trees then obviously the road and a road name sign under it aswell. im surprised the branches held up with 13stone of me on them but they did just
  9. climbing for gareth off here again today had a couple of willows to pollard only got pics of 1
  10. Cheers guys im just gkad its out the way now that job. No where near as big as trees near you though mr blair!
  11. Enjoyed that. did look pretty dead to keep the vids coming!
  12. You can get 25t and 30t city cranes that as same width as transit they will extend further than 21 meters and lift more than you mentioned, plus some are all terrain aswell so you could park it right up as close as you wanted to the tree since you drove your truck next to it with chipper where theres a will theres a way.
  13. You can get city cranes that are as narrow as 6ft for access.
  14. a less exciting video but got some of the camcorder footage from the ground [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQtYdmck0II&feature=plcp&context=C4455246VDvjVQa1PpcFPEQGaJdtl4freVeM1u9Q_96JGXlbKZL6Y=]horsechestnut crane removal groundsmen view - YouTube[/ame]
  15. all the stem sections are in the same size sections cut off with the crane straight in the truck and tipped off to be put on the bonfire or left to rot to much metal work in them to cut into firewood, all rest is to be split for firewood though plenty of that to get stuck into now! the throttle blipping is just like chainsawdom says to be careful really slowly cut through it looking for the cut to open or close as to weather the crane has to much tension on it or not enough assumeing the slings are set right anyways.
  16. cheers mark, that woman was a complete nightmare, what you didnt see in the video was her picking up twigs for a couple minutes then she went i cut through most of it then she came back as seen in the video with dog poo thing if you watch closely you can see me shaking my head once she goes. no common sense at all i tryed shouting her waved my hands at her nothing registered
  17. cheers guys there was a couple branches that were far from smooth in the video but it all comes with experience you live and learn i dont have a clue how to turn videos on the program i use to edit so im sorry for all the bad necks
  18. yer seems my helmet cam has rotated in the mount so its abit on the wonk never checked till i opened the vids up.
  19. cheers, yer was a fair distance 26meters away, why i had to get the bigger crane than i would have liked in but never mind big toys to play with and all that
  20. picked up rest of the timber today, 8 loads of timber, 1 load of woodchip, and 1 load of sawdust. in total. clients are chuffed with the job got a 100quid tip which was very generous nice picture of the stump and the very friendly bit of metal that ruined my 3120xp chain. i think most of the stem would be good for scrap value the amount of metal work in the tree all way up the tree
  21. posted a few pics of it in general tree pics so here is the video, few mistakes havent climbed for a few weeks and havent done a crane dismantle for over a year this is my second one ever. had 55 ton crane in for it. all the limbs ranged from 1ton to 4 tons [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9zdKGbXI_A&feature=plcp&context=C3083231UDOEgsToPDskIGkR2O0iqtsVl8Mq-iyJK2]horsechestnut crane removal - YouTube[/ame]

  24. the tree wasnt as knackered but i certainly was my nerves are shot been over a year since i last did a crane dismantle and ive only ever done poplar with crane so this was a whole different kettle of fish plus i hadnt climbed for few weeks video will show all my mistakes though when it uploads to youtube
  25. we only managed to get the first lump under the chip box the other big wouldnt fit so i just took tail board off and ratchet strapped it so it wouldnt fall off back so all good
