  3. Once we got tipped 3 kittens.Dad was not impressed.

I just thought I might say that there was an incident here in NZ recently.A piece was being lifted thru the foliage of a neighbouring tree and while it was not visible to anyone on site,the hook caught on a limb and turned,the strop moved onto the safety latch on the hook which then broke and the piece then fell out of control to the ground. This leads to my question.Any ideas how to prevent this from happening ?

I thaught that if your rope was locked with a butterfly,that the lower marsbars backed up the upper.What will be the chances of both of them uncamming at once?.I dont do srt yet.Im still using a blakes hitch with a micro pulley and a single eye tail,Im going to try a VT soon,Terry has just got his going well,I use the marsbars instead of footlocking.Do you use a VT???

  9. it usually takes me approxiately twice the time as it takes to climb half the way up.
  10. coolie,Do you back up the marbars and also the ultrascenders when your srt.And also many hugs and kisses for the awesome 21st birthday present,Terry and I have been using it hard out.
  11. Hi Drew,I just got a brand new XTC(plus,red/white,16 strand,1/2") today,still in its wrapping,probably not the flashest available.So far I got a choice of 10mm beeline or ocean poly to go with it but like I said before I want to try armour prus too.Thanks for helping.

Thanks again Drew,I knew it was made here,I been looking thru the Levin Sawmakers catalog(local Arb Shop) and I couldnt see it.I luv my 10mm beeline but I have heard good things about armour prus so I gotta try it out.My Dad uses Ocean Poly only,I see him sanding it when its new.I dont know much about blaze.

  16. Its good when your learning at "letting it run" like me,when your told how many wraps to take,Ive been caught out when the rope(s) is covered in sap,but I guess we all have that problem.
  17. thank u Sciadopitys for the pics and all the info too,I had never seen a Joshua tree before and I had asked arborists here{N.Z.}about them and no one really knew anything about them,I printed your pics and hung them on the office board and when people ask about them I will have a lot of information to tell them,I would love to grow some here but I will have to check up on that first{noxious weed etc}.
