    Thanks for the replies and the advice lads,I consider myself "Told off" and I am going to self flagellate with my grout trowl. 5 Hail Marys and 5 chapters of Shigo.
  2. I dont know if they are common in the UK but we use Fishing hand casting reels.No need to unwind.

    What next

    I ended up filling it with grout,and then another coat of pruneing paint over that to seal it.I did seriously consider foam but my Dad talked me out of it. He says concrete is proven.Concrete adds density to the structure of the tree.He says,How do you know that foam is not toxic to the tree and make it sick or that it will not absorb moisture and cause decay,and that it adds less strength to the trees structure.Does anyone know any answers to these questions or can recommend a proven brand of foam(or filler).

  7. Wattles, Bankseas, Willows, Golden Totaras, Poplars, Theyre mine but My Dad and Brother take on the big trees like Pines,Eucs,Macras,big Poplars when they can get them.

  10. I would be interested to hear about your techniques for roping over into the next tree.Ive been practicing the "slingshot'' method with a throwball and I was wondering about any other ways to do it.

    Mokai is Sth East of Taihape.This FFox is labelled the most extreme in the world.Ive ridden it twice and "Ill be back" for another ride as soon as I can.I havent been to the Nelson one,it is labelled as the worlds longest ride.

  16. just my 2 cents wurth,.. out of all the saws that u could buy,why would u get a Solo? But if u have made up your mind then I hope that u get a good run out of it.Replacing the ring(s) can be a cheap way to get the compression right up again.bon chance.

    I just love Flying Foxes,top one is in Nelson,NZ.The next two are at Mokai,NZ. Any near You? Have you ever built a small one?
  20. We also take many loads of green waste to a dump that has a large top feed mulcher and pay tip fees.We do a lot of ringing up which is almost always left on site.The "Very basic setup."

  22. We dont own a mulcher,we only hire one for a term if we can pile mulch on site,so far.
