  1. thanks for the heads up. we don't often venture those ways but always handy to know. and it's the woolpit/ixworth/elmswell turn off (which has a traveller site next to it - interesting to know how often they get pulled!!)
  2. well, they got it down without breaking anything and waited for cars to go past so what's the problem? if they injure themselves, it's their problem!
  3. out stretched i do and i don't see any problem with this....and v.occasionally when chogging i hold a chunk up with one hand to stop it pinching and blip the throttle to finish a cut.
  4. cool trees! my sister lives in granada, so i'll be visiting soon. i'll add some pics to the thread.
  5. i can't believe it's gone upto £160! Why would you bid that much on something that is so blatantly fake. even if they don't know it's fake surely you would want to know the model number???? anyone want to bid it up to silly money? doesn't seem like ebay have taken any noticed of any reports...
  6. how come? the compression might be on the bottom...
  7. 95% of the time yes. 100% of the time when working out on a limb. i only don't use one if my main line is vertical, and the saw is well away from it. it takes 2 seconds to strop in, so what is the excuse?
  8. right o. i think i'll pass to be honest. it was a good idea in my hangover riddled head
  9. ok fair enough. still a beast, though! 137cc i think...?
  10. quote of the thread
  11. STHIL CHAINSAW COLLECTORS PIECE on eBay (end time 09-Jan-11 12:52:10 GMT) they don't mention the model number, but it looks similar to one(?) it's only a few miles away so i might be interested (if it's not more hassle to get it going than it's worth)
  12. i saw a small article in the paper the other day that 1 1/2 million trees are to be planted over the 120 miles between london and birmingham. anyone know who got the contract? how long would that take for a 3 man team
  13. great pictures. i like this one.... edit - and this
  14. yeh sounds the same as the aa article. guess they are the same. he lost proper use of his hand/fingers and the other guy put the saw into his chest! makes you think a bit....
  15. there's a couple of articles in the winter 2010 AA newsletter mag, concerning one handed chainsaw use. there's a couple of stories about serious accidents as a result of one handed use. i'll scan it when i have time
  16. you should get a pm from steve with the ticket number soon
  17. strange. select 14" or 16" and it's over £400. select 18" and its £199 i very much doubt they will sell for this, must be an error on the website
  18. and i thought the 020av was dated! Vintage Tree Surgeons Chainsaw very rare on eBay (end time 08-Jan-11 18:51:44 GMT)
  19. You've upgraded from the turnip powered server then?
  20. look for the stein kit bag. i've had mine for a year and a half with no problems. quite cheap aswell (around £25?)
  21. Can't remember exactly, i think i did just search for an 'arboriculture forum' on google. No regrets, though. I won a ms260 and got lot's of work in the last part of 2009 as a direct result of browsing here and i'd like to think i'm a bit more clued up with tree work from being here.
  22. i sold my old buckinghams (must be 15 years old at a guess), in worse condition that those, for £65 on ebay (after i had them on here for a couple of weeks for £35!!). i think £80 would be a good ebay price for those.
  23. it was as the op said '1 spanner' in the ebay title and description, they have since updated the listing.
  24. exactly what i thought! REF happy new year jon from alex in cold suffolk
