  4. thanks for the heads up. we don't often venture those ways but always handy to know. and it's the woolpit/ixworth/elmswell turn off (which has a traveller site next to it - interesting to know how often they get pulled!!)
  5. well, they got it down without breaking anything and waited for cars to go past so what's the problem? if they injure themselves, it's their problem!
  6. out stretched i do and i don't see any problem with this....and v.occasionally when chogging i hold a chunk up with one hand to stop it pinching and blip the throttle to finish a cut.

  10. 95% of the time yes. 100% of the time when working out on a limb. i only don't use one if my main line is vertical, and the saw is well away from it. it takes 2 seconds to strop in, so what is the excuse?

  17. yeh sounds the same as the aa article. guess they are the same. he lost proper use of his hand/fingers and the other guy put the saw into his chest! makes you think a bit....
  18. there's a couple of articles in the winter 2010 AA newsletter mag, concerning one handed chainsaw use. there's a couple of stories about serious accidents as a result of one handed use. i'll scan it when i have time

  23. look for the stein kit bag. i've had mine for a year and a half with no problems. quite cheap aswell (around £25?)
  24. Can't remember exactly, i think i did just search for an 'arboriculture forum' on google. No regrets, though. I won a ms260 and got lot's of work in the last part of 2009 as a direct result of browsing here and i'd like to think i'm a bit more clued up with tree work from being here.
