  3. This is used if you have multiple cable in duct and want to follow one
  4. If you know where the cable is just put the gunny over it cat won’t find fibre optic unless it has tracer
  5. Buy cheap but twice maybe?
  6. Thinking too close to building take a few more pictures
  7. What does the root plate look like
  8. The topic was how reasonable the valuation on the tree was not if it was regenerating personally I think it’s undervalued. For too long we seem to value trees as just timber, firewood and chip,no reasonable accounting for landscape value. If you cut down a tree and are found to have broken the law you should replace the tree to a condition as it was the day before you cut it down, I know this isn’t always reasonable or possible but the fine should reflect this and hurt.
  9. Your going to need a crane much bigger to lift in a mature tree
  10. Just imagine the whole of the uk is going to be watching you 65 million arm chair tree planters who could all do it better !
  11. I doubt you would be allowed a digger within 100 m of the wall can you imagine the paperwork and box ticking plus the jobsworths that would be involved given I put mature oaks in at Nine Elms using the sites tower crane and they were over 20k and much much smaller
  12. We thought given ground conditions heavy lift helicopter there is. £250 000 for a start unless we can borrow a sky crane find tree prepare 2/3 years work rootball prune, move excavate pit on ancient monument not cheap by hand plant water and look after allowance for failure how much would you do it for?
  13. Not so sure. how much would you charge to replace it with the same species of similar size? we had a chat few weeks back came to 3/4 million as a starting figure
  14. Out of the sky maybe but getting to the trees roots Put a bit of a seaweed feed in the water 10/15 ml per litre
  15. You can get the certificate privately not sure of the cost
  16. Nights for us is double time plus a day off paid
  17. Feed it and keep watered looks ok
  18. There is Chinese junk on eBay for 3k new I think the opico is better but 5k is more than I would pay
  19. Look like they haven’t been watered and are suffering from wind desssication, too much top and too little root or available moisture water well and put up a wind break, mulch heavily and remove 1/3 of the branches either by tipping back or cutting at trunk. is it right tree right place probably too large a specimen if they fail try much smalller and a tree tube
  20. Shouldn’t be a problem drop in new auger torque teeth if you bring it round will do it for you
  21. There is a big difference between ground protection and bog mats, these 8 x 4 mats will just let the machine slid of if used in the wet, true mats are timber baulks bolted together if really wet I’ve used sleepers stitched together four / five is about as much as a three tonne digger can handle, then hay make your way out and back using as many as you can afford
