  1. So look on product website see what joints are available for liner to insulated flue how will you hold it up to clear the pitch on the roof ?
  2. Got mine from j&m belts 01375 375924
  3. Work really well, had to get extended forks to move them about can get a little slippery if on slope used on turfing job ground was too soft even to walk over
  4. Made this for mine tonne bag lift on pins, chain attaches in middle, for stumps and posts tow ball on top and use pins for towing eyes
  5. Say your flue is 6inches allow 2 inches of taper = 8 inches plus flashing 10 to 12 inches, =18 to 20 inches, slates are laid to cover three times you will be needing to disturb some of next doors slates, if roof leaks your location will be poo creek
  6. Depending on the layout of the chimney you might have to disturb his roof to flash the chimney correctly
  7. I’d talk to the neighbour soon
  8. I’ve found it sometimes helps to add weight to the front as well, turned up the pumps on my first skidsteer avant to lift more which it did then put more rear weight as counter balance worked well when loaded but with pallet forks or light bucket machine was on its tail before standing on rear so added conter balancing weight to front Told by avant the extra weight would damage the wheel motors
  9. I had one of these for twenty years I’ve offered to talk him through operation not heard back
  10. If you have a grab bucket use a roll of old chain link grab it and drive works a treat backwards and forewards
  11. Try fielders at stowmarket made some good rims for my alpine £30 per tyre is worryingly cheap are they up to the job?
  12. True alpine tractors have very little ground clearance, they are usually wide and not meant for mud and roots.
  13. My alpine had a Landrive pto made it much better with a powered trailer, otherwise anything other than flat ground and it was hard work
  14. I applied for permission to extend the house in 2007 started in 2008 at the same time also applied to build a workshop and take down two trees didn’t cut the trees down until autumn 2021 bit of a fuss but nothing could be done as work had already started and then planning doesn’t run out
  15. T and g is always a bad idea on gates shiplap works much better also not too many nails let the cladding move, got a pair of large courtyard gates stained black they move 1/4 inch on each board during the year What wood expands and contract least ?
  16. If you have kids and dogs for the piece of mind I would automate gate should always be shut then, plus it keeps the in-laws from suprise visits!
  17. Depends on the age of your kids it soon gets a pain to stop get out of the car open the gate pass stop the car and close especially on dark wet nights you should be able to automate for under about £8/900 excluding power
  18. You don’t need a frame to automate, if mine would use a single gate cut from best oak you have, proper morticed and tenon joints with dowels, hung on a metal post cladding with oak boards to match gate proper heavy duty hinges back hung not field gate hinges more super hinge this will allow adjustment in both planes ,maybe go for electric mag lock and arm automation the pressure on the gate in the closed position will keep it square The top and bottom rails should be the same size and the styles should match and if design allows a centre rail to mount motors to equalise pressure will give less twist don’t go for cheap automation three phase 24/36v brushless is the best
  19. All oak moves, nice straight knot free timber well jointed might work fitted these while back seasoned oak still moved used adjustable hinges to make work
  20. Try Barcham trees not rootball but pot never had a problem
  21. If oil is high in machine check not contaminated with diesel,
  22. You are never going to stop the professional thief, but I believe there are more lucrative things to steal than arboricultural equipment, it’s the opportunist that the tracker stops, or more realistically helps you find it in what ever woodland or caravan site it’s parked upon the problem then becomes one of getting the police to respond and reclaim the item!
  23. Try posting pictures again
  24. I fail to see why chipper manufacturers don’t fit trackers or immobilisers as standard, especially if you are going to leave it on a trailer overnight, they could be deeply embedded into the machine making removal difficult
