  9. Some trees have more meaning, and spiritual meaning than others, it wasn't just the Baobabs as far as i could tell. It also seemed to be the larger Kapoc's and Mahogany's that "stood" out. The first set of Baobab pics in the Montage (behind the makasutu bench), we had to ask permission to climb, same went for the Kapoc towards the end. You could just tell speaking to the locals that they looked up to and after certain trees, kind of like in a mother earth type of way, and understood the importance they played in their lives. They also found it pretty funny that we wanted to climb them!! When we took some of them up with us they were overjoyed, and without sounding girly, it was an awesome experience. One i would recommend to anybody:thumbup:
  10. Yeh there was some fruits on some and non on others, seemed to be the start of the season from what i could tell. We also had Baobab juice every morning for breakfast, its a bit dry (the fruit), but they mix it with milk and other fruity stuff and it was well nice

  12. We don't know David, Nod asked the locals about these baobabs as quite a few had "work" done on them.... None would own up to it! Apparently they grew that way:lol: There's even a stigma on pollarding in Gambia:lol::lol:
