that looks a bit of a nice job to do nice one:biggrin:
  18. ha ha i se what you mean the blakes will not self tend but as you pull down on the rope it is pulled up the rope by the pully it will not feed rope through unless you pull down on the tail of the rope:thumbup1:
  19. do you think the speedline is left tensioned to keep the top away from the pole and second climber? if it was cut onto a rigging line as you would normally do it would shurely hit the lower guy?
  20. iv'e tried this a few different ways an it dose work but its a bit of a faff good set up for long free hanging cilmbs when throw bagging tall trees
  21. what?
  22. lol........ dont tell em pike...
  23. is the quick hitch not also called a slipery sheet bend and i think the best knot for rope to rope is a sheet bend and that its easier to tie tie a marine spike (normal knot used for saws etc) put the rope through the loop and pull the loop back out (as you would to undo normally) this then pulls the lowering rope through with it and results in a sheet bend and its very easy and quick to tie
  24. bowline running bowline bowline on a bight all good knots i use all the time the bowline on a bight is very good for shortening a rope when pulling trees with a winch/mog/landy etc and it always comes apart afterwards i also use butterfly and alpine butterfly for a few jobs cow hitch, timber hitch, clove hith constricter is good for slippy things and of course the mos used knot of all the marine spike
