  2. i have proof loaded it tested it low to ground and been climbing on it for 8 months just wondered if it was a documented knot
  3. it works safely imo, it is slightly harder to advance than other knots but it always grips the rope (unlike some other knots) and who sais i shouldnt be using it.
  4. old oak i saw in a park a while back had to take a couple of pics of it
  5. the view from the office the other morning
  6. on the second picture the right hand side rope should pass under the rope that goes to the left to be a distel
  7. have to say it looks like a distel but i dont think it is one, the bottom part looks different
  8. here's a knot i've been using on my hitch climber which is a variation of the knut (or at least its simillar) can any one id it or is it my own creation?
  9. there are a few old threads along the lines of this one heres a link to one that had a poll on it http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/7760-self-rescue.html
  10. stevie i had the self same thing with mine and i found useing the middle hole on the rope guide helps by holding the two ropes apart a bit further i had bother with the hitch catching on the loop and crab (nearly dropped 25 ft) i also think a strop in between is a good idea but i shorten it when i get up the tree and start working then it dosn't get in the way
