please enlighten us, whats the website?
  4. Could be something to do with the immense weight of palm stem blocks, or the fact it is far easier to bore into and down the stem cutting with the fibres, as 'cross cutting' palm normally is much harder due to the fibres tightening and pinching the saw. Also palm oil rots the metallic parts on the saw, so a proper clean with pertol solution after each takedown!
  5. Just a bit more sawdust for you all to clear up! Haha! LOL
  6. HaHa! although now that you say that..... We were really lucky to see them, a total surprise and an awesomely humbling experience, and they were quite faint, nowhere near as good as what you will hopefully see! Enjoy
  7. 15 years ago me and some buddies were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on a New Years break in a little cottage in Lochinver NW Scotland Amazing!
  8. Hi mate, Where did you get the £520+VAT price for the 441? Cheers
  9. Evening All, My mate told me about this, after having a moan to him about my rubbish Orange mobile reception. Basically, as Orange have joined with T-mobile, users can now share reception masts, improving the range of masts available inyour area, it cant swap during calls, so wont stop a call dropping out, but may help? Just dial 150 (cust services) from your Orange mobile and ask the operator to activate your T-mobile sharing service, its that easy, and has defo improved things for me! Hope this is handy for some. Cheers Beezy

  11. Hi All, I've got a little camera on my Chrissy wish list from the girlfriend, as my old digi camera is old school! Can anyone recommend a nice little camera, that will be good to take into the field to help build the portfolio, and easily takes nice shots without too much fuss, and has a zoom of sorts!? I have looked at the Lumix range, girlfriend has one, like the pics it takes, but Sony do some nice camers too, know there's a few camera buff's on here so any advice is appreciated. budget around the £150-£200 max. Cheers
  12. G'day Mark,

Cheers for the response, I am in two minds really whether to get a KC registered pup from an approved breeder, or get one from a home breeder litter.

Really want to get a happy, healthy and fit dawg, not a poor little puppy farmed mite. I defo want a compact, strong stocky lab that loves a big yomp in the country and is a friendly thing with everyone/thing he/she meets! Is that too much to ask! haha

Would you suggest go down the KC registered route, big bucks i know, or home breeder, if so how do you choose a good un?! I am looking early part of next year, when i get a bit more stuff sorted out. Looking forward to it heaps though!

    Again advice appreciated.

    Cheers mate

  13. Hi Mark,

My name is John (Beezy!) I live in Tonbridge, and am in the process of getting a dog, I've grown up with dogs all my life, but really want to get my own now.

I'm a massive Lab snob tbh, and your two in your avatar are super stars! Just getting together a bit of info at the moment, and wondered where you got yours from, Kent?

Looking at early next year, but any info advice appreciated.

    Cheers mate

    John

  14. Any pics mate, be good to see it 'for real' rather than in promo vids?
  15. On a similar theme, a 3GS Orange network iPhone has been driving me up the wall, calls continuously dropping out, like most calls tbh! dont know if its the provider or iPhone?? I've called Orange twice, after getting so frustrated, they apologise and fob off saying an antenae is down in my area, and its very difficult to liase with engineers and landowners in order to access the masts, not my problem! I have made calls, and can receive so their excuse is exactly that. Tried a new SIM, no better and unfortunately i'm only 10 months into a 24 month contract. Love the phone, hate the service, esp as my O2 work phone is always in reception! Rant over..... and relaxx
  16. Hi Jonesie,

I am in the process of building my private client base at the moment and defo need to improve my range of saws.

    Could you give me the best price on 2x 14" MS200T's, a 16" MS261, a 20" MS361and also a 20" MS 441.

I am definately getting a 200t and my mate is having one at the same time, and it will be a groundsaw too, not quite sure which one yet.

If you could PM your best prices please, I am local so can collect.

    Many thanks

    Beezy

  17. 4x4 pick up truck towing capacity, BHP and general reviews really is a minefield tbh, and one where I actually cant seem get a straight answer in print, on tinterweb or in conversation. Does anyone know of a difinitive factsheet/web address where it outlines the above broken down into each spec and what they can tow, carry etc. I am in the proces of looking a buying a truck to tow and this sort of info would be really handy. Thinking about an 05 L200, but dont want to hijack this thread, have searched all other threads here for that info. Cheers
  18. Evening All, Been reading this thread with interest. Do you think a small chipper like the JB300 etc, a pick up and trailer (ideally tipping) is a good set up to start with, then add to your arsenal when cash and increase in work allows? (Private work at weekends ) Saying this as have access to the truck and trailer, and thinking of investing in a little bad boy, as stacking and mincing is getting to be a pain in the bum tbh! Surprised what can be diced up onto a trailer, but can these wee chippers really deal with a big takedown, obviously 3"+ timber going for logs?? Cheers Beezy
  19. You sound like a valuable employee IMO, if all you are saying is correct. Do you get on well with the boss, and do you like the firm, the area, the work you get and could see yourself there for longer, and have a future there if niggles are sorted? If so, have you thought about speaking to your boss to see if there is the opportunity for a share/investment future partnership. This would be a professionally written up docu that explains everything, and then the extra hours or effort you put in, may not immediately be rewarded financially, but they would have an effect on the firms work output, and image leading to more work and your investment shares increase? Just a thought as not ben mentioned yet. Good luck mate, grass isn't always greener. Fact.
  20. Evening All, Been thinking about taking the first level course in IRATA Rope Access course to broaden my skills base and possibly increase the work load. Does anyone else have these quals and use them for rope access work, I see there is vegetation clearance on steep banks etc, but is there other non arb/vege more varied rope acces work available? I understand that the work relies on documenting and logging hours on the job in order to progress to the more advanced course levels. Advice or stories welcome. Thanks Beezy
  21. Hi there, Can anyone recommend a plant hire firm near the Guildford area that hire either spider tracked MEWP's or truck mounted type. Probably only need about 12m reach tbh, but the 17m narrow access tracked version would be fine. Many thanks Beezy
  22. Right hound to left hound... "Oh Crikey....you know you thought that Pedigree chum was on the turn last night....?Well I just risked a fart!!!"
