  1. Morning All I have now got this trailer and am keen for the mesh sides, so a bit of a bump for advice/thoughts? Cheers
  2. From the pics, there looks to be a small length of throw line cord attached to the ring and krab to catch it on retrieval.
  3. Hi All, I am thinking about buying my mates 10x5 Ifor, its in great condition and he's looked after it well, and as we all know, these things are an asset and hold their money well. He is getting a tipper and is having the mesh sides off this trailer, so I need to find a full set of mesh sides for it. Ifor offer them for £550, does anyone know of other places that makes them or have a set they want to sell? Any help appreciated. Cheers Beezy
  4. Lads, Do any of these devices measure spread as well as height? Are they able to measure the amount due to be pruned from a branch or an overall amount off a tree as asked the OP? Cheers all Beezy
  5. Thanks S O C, does the trupulse easily measure crown spread/span also? Paul Smith not sure if your question was amusingly rhetoric, or genuine? if it's the latter, i've seen it on some sites for around £300 - £330. Cheers Beezy
  6. Hi All, With the recent revisons to BS3998 and the TPO regs, and some LPA's now requiring the finalised dimensions of the pruned tree/branch appearing on the application form.... have people given much thought or had experience with any laser measurement devices? They all appear initially quite an investment, but are they worth it, do they save time, make life easier? What devices also measure crown spread necessary for BS5837 reports, I have looked at the Nikon Forestry 550, which appears decent value for money, but not sure if this does this or is just a laser range/distance finder? Nikon | Sport Optics | Forestry 550 Any help or ideas much appreciated. Cheers Beezy
  7. All of the above, plus have a packed lunch with you so you're not reliant on a garage/bakery stop. Banter is good, but don't overstep the mark until you fully get to know the lie of the land and what are the limits with the lads/lasses, that'll take longer than a week Be keen and get stuck in, think about the next task before you are asked and enjoy! Good luck mate.
  8. Lovely swan dive into pit! Launches gloves across the garden and lets out some beautiful Oxford english phrases! Hahaha!
  9. Hello mate,

My Cousin is a farmer in Dorset, I have done bits and pieces climbing wise for him on the farm, although he is after a ground saw 026/034 type of size.

Do you deal in good second hand saws such as this, or can you recommend other places to try?

Any advice or info, very much appreciated.

    Many thanks

  10. Think you'll be lucky to pick up a brand new 200t from a UK supplier mate. All long gone from my searches!
  11. Evening All, I'm an usher at a good friends wedding next weekend, and on the Sunday they would like a sports day getogether! I've been put in charge of the tug of war contest, I have some old 3 strand climbing rope, but its way too stretchy, have checked Ebay and proper tug of war rope is pretty expeno!! So, does anyone have some I could borrow for the weekend please, they'd be a few beers/bottle in it for you! In anticipation! Beezy
  12. I'd go a medium mate. Generally a tighter fit compared to other ballistics but I like that
  13. Bit bling but works a treat IMO: Onto the bridge attach: Ring, Petzl swivel, ring: in that order. This allows you to use the swivel as your main anchor/lifeline attachement, then have the benefit of two rings either side of this to attach a secondary anchor, depending on which side your secondary anchor point is on that particular occasion. Remember to use something like Locetite thread lock on the shackles after undoing them to insert any new shiny stuff! May be a bit OTT for some, but I love this set up.
  14. Very dead Holm Oak branches, by Royal Appointment! Following a recent contract at Windsor Castle, for the Royal Household
  15. HaHa! Might get him in, i'll nip down to the Londis and get some Vinegar Rouge! DefenderJack, it's going to be flopped into a field mate, so easy access for vehicles and towable equip. Cheers Beezy
  16. Hi All, I've got a fair size dead Oak to take down, and the client wants it all logged up, including the main stem. Does anyone know of any self propelled log splitter hire firms, as FR Jones aren't hiring theirs anymore. I'm in the Kent (Sevenoaks) area. Many thanks Beezy
  17. Yo Mark, This fella might be worth a try, he's got a load of different grinders, and a nice chap to boot. Jh Vartan Stump Removal Mr. Jonathan Vartan 1 Diamond Cottages Primrose Lane Forest Row East Sussex RH18 5LT(Map). Tel: 01242824648 Email: [email protected] Easy now. JBeezy
  18. Yes mate. I'll PM you, thanks for your help. Beezy
  19. Thanks Hama, I have tried to call Andy, but his phone number on his website doesn't work, and he hasn't answered my online request, maybe because he is away? John Harraway who I would normally use is busy on a big contract until June, and this is a bit time sensitive, i'll grab BatiArbs details from his signature and try him again. Cheers mate Beezy
  20. Hi, I have been asked to survey a mature Oak with several large old pruning wounds with reaction wood and cavities and decay into the main stem, with a view to deciding the trees future (Housing estate, cars, kids etc below) The client has agreed to carry out decay detection testing on the tree to decide its fate, and I have recommended further decay detection in the form of a Picus/Tomograph test. My usual consultant is snowed under with work at the minute, and this is a time sensitive job, does anyone own/carry out/recommend a consultant with such kit that can do this inspection for me, I am happy to be on site to assist, as the wounds are from 2m-5m on the main stem. I will get pics and post when I pass it next, any help advice appreciated Thanks Beezy
  21. Do you have a day rate in mind mate?
  22. Morning All, I need to get a new cordless drill, one that can do everything, although no major masonary drilling, and a decent price. Screwfix have got some pretty good priced ones, but what are your opinions/reviews? 18v or 24v, Lithium Ion battery? Thanks in advance Beezy
  23. Needle dicks the lot of them!
  24. May be worth printing out the quote and producing a replica for her to sign as the 'acceptance' sheet, if you don't already, then it's something in black and white if she is a serial " can you just!" Just a thought
