  1. Italy. I have trawled the net to find one, but no luck, and have lost my mate's number now.
  2. Its not the Brogio, and in Italy no its not......he works out there.
  3. They generally go into the scrap pile, although some go to a mate with a brushcutter attachment that uses them for the cutter......its from italy abd absolutely awesome!!
  4. Dean- you see that beautiful stone wall along the side of your drive....I reckon the lower part of it, where your house name is, is probably high enough for you to bang your head against without having to kneel down......
  5. Surely there are other places than Tavistock chainsaws though???...
  6. Canon make big bards that are good, and Rob D on the forum here who is the man for alaskan mills recommends the GB bars that he sells. Get in touch with him as you will get excellent advice and service from a really good guy.
  7. I have always just chucked my ropes in the washing machine as they are, at 30 degrees with about 1/4 the normal amount of powder if they are sappy...including 50m of 16mm liros, no probs to the machine......have some of you lot had busted machines from this?
  8. That is the biggest reason not to get one for me...........you either have to have them touched up or put up with the effects of a living, moving, stretching, sagging canvas.....
  9. As Hama says, the chain brake is inside the casing and wil not get a proper clean unless the side plate is removed. I only generally use an airline, but several times a year will do a thorough clean, getting right in all the concealed bits and diggin out all the oil and sawdust bits that have turned to a substance that resembles rubber. Its worth going to all the trouble (which TBH it isnt much trouble) to make your saws last for years and last in proper working order. And 6 months of dirt is just that- six months worth, so will not be replaced in just a day.
  10. Very good find Andy. Like you say- those high lifts can be a proper pain to carry on top of all the other kit.
  11. Crikey you guys work fast.... Good video. I like that.
  12. What is it all powered by? (PLEASE tell me there is a huge waterwheel involved somewhere, or at least something involving steam....)
  13. Hama, no-one is saying DONT give advice, 99.9% of your advice is superb, but like many, if not ALL, of us on this forum, there is that 0.1% which may be misguided perhaps. In my case it is probably more like 10% not 0.1%, and (and i am sure i speak for others here) it is never a PERSONAL dig.
  14. There is a slight update here
  15. HOpe he recovers fine. Addenbrooks has an excellent reputation- he is in good hands.
  16. Mine isnt, but i wish it was!!!!
  17. Sorry- didnt answer your second question. I agree with you- a small weight reduction and it would probably be okay for years to come, no need to be overly worried. HOWEVER, I havent seen the tree up close.......
  18. I think you are being a bit touchy Hama. I take it you are referring to the inexperienced guy who wanted advice on getting a hung up tree down- well that was nothing personal, just that I , and as it turned out lots of others, thought that advising him how you did was somewhat irresponsible. As for this thread, again, nothing personal, and actually not even a criticism, just a tongue in cheek remark/ joke, hence the smilies. Huck sumed it up perfectly two posts later.
  19. Hey deni you should get Hama's quote in writing mate- you'll be well covered:sneaky2:

    sharpening

I ALWAYS sharpen a new chain straight from the box.....I wouldnt WANT a 'factory sharp' finish as its not sharp enough.... Quite. I put a new chain on a 390xp running a 28" bar 2 weeks ago, full chisel, and hit an iron bar, making the chain look like a ripping chain...About 15 minutes, ON SITE was all it took to get it flying again. Indeed.
  21. VERY nice piroject all round. You ought to be justifiably very proud of your achievements.
