  1. Lost on this one? :confused1:Did someone really rip off your pics mate?
  2. Wow.That wasnt there when i went to alnwick........20 years ago!!
  3. I reckon 35-40mm min for a really big table top. It will make it VERY heavy, but will look spectacular.
  4. Totally. It is possible to find downrated ones- carver si's is 7.5 tonne- they take out a leaf, or they put a block above the spring. Two ways to get around this-get an HGV licence, or register the truck AG.
  5. That would be prudent i think..... sorry for derail BTW:001_smile:

    I need a job

Great news. Good luck with it.
  7. Nice. Better than the MK. (mj has turbo). Has yours got PAS too? Some were fitted with it, some not. My mate carver si has an MJ and is about to put PAS system on it. Good basic engineering that wont break down. Nice purchase Andy.
  8. Haha- it wouldnt be the first on arbtalk. Its only my preference to stihl- there will be a million guys out there who think stihl are the biggest pile of poo ever and wil only touch husky. Its personal experince and preference that decides this debate. TBH nate if yu have spent that nuch on a saw its not worth selling for the loss you will inevitably make- as even in as new condition you will be hard pushed to justify charging much more than 50% of its original price, and you cn almost guarantee that you will find a use for it the day after you sell it!!
  9. It is hard to beat, but having owned husky saws and both being a bag of unreliable crap, i would happily say that FOR ME, stihl beats them.
  10. Its really bad isnt it. On top of that he isnt a new customer of theirs, having spent a fair bit of money on his last mog with them. This machine also has the usual respray=recon signs which i am told go with that particular territory.
  11. ill tell you something else amazing.......none of it is under warranty. How strange..
  12. Not the kwik chip my mate bought from atkinsons only about a noth ago on hi latest mog......the stress control has gone wrong already and it has p'ed all the oil out of the gear box too. O and the clutch has gone on the mog too...
  13. I have to disagree- i think your sign writing, albeit a little homemade looking, is very concise and to the point:lol:
  14. You guys getting some good breezes up there then?? Its not that bad down here- 20mph gusts at most i would have said. Dying down tomorrow i hope........me and my mate are off to climb what he reckons is a 150' sitka he knows about. I have bought a big tape measure.
  15. Imagine the work it would bring in if it was signwritten!!!! :sneaky2:Not man enough for stevies or big andy's new chippers though:laugh1:
  16. Hahaha- great reply mate. I dont have one- i originally put 088, but then thought that the only evidence would be me picking up a 3120 and thinking it felt heavy in comparison to the 088 that i have got:sneaky2: Someone surely would have pointed that out in no uncertain terms, and i wasnt going to trawl the web looking for the weights of the two saws, so i put 066!!!
  17. is that a lister 'd'engine- i think they are only 1hp!! You wil need much more to run a sawbench. Tart it up and sell it to one of those old guys at country fairs who wear flat caps.....
  18. Get rid of it- horrible whining heavy old husky thing thatll blow up one day. Go and get an 066 stihl-lighter and itll last for years.

What your avater about hogsbreath? Bikes? or am i way off the mark?
  20. Crikey, he must be a glutton for punishnment. I couldnt wait to get my hi-cap converted after i bought it.
  21. It doesnt seem to ever stain black, as you say. It also has very long grain giving it a very strong tensile strength- this lends it well to structural work and steam bending. It can take knocks and shaking yet stay stable too.
