  1. THAT is the best reply...... Liam and Brian, take 1 Kudos point each:lol:
  2. The landy can pull 3.5 tonnes legally, as it has permanent 4x4 on the road. Its nearest competitor is the ranger (i think) which can pull 2.7, last i heard. That means you can pull a fully loaded 10'ifor. IMO the amount of logs you can get in the back of a navarra etc isnt worth the diesel to deliver them.:001_smile:Then you have to handball them out too. If you dont need to go off road then I think a cabstar or transit would be the sensible option. you should still get my rig though....
  3. Aside from my cheekiness, get a toyota or a landrover mate. Those are hairdressers cars IMO, little more than shoping trollies.:thumbdown:and a lot of pikies round here have navaras, so if you are worried about the image a transit will portray.......
  4. :sneaky2:This set up would be perfect...... Defender Tipper and Ifor Trailer - Arbtalk Classifieds

  10. Spread the wealth mate- keep subbying and everyone gets a decent slice i reckon.
  11. Paint the endgrain of the log before you mill it next time, its easeier and the boards stay cleaner. You can use almost anything for this. Oil should be applied once the wood has dried out, or you wil risk the oil/ varnish etc being thrown off as the water escapes the wood. Strictly speaking one coat isnt enough indoors. The rule of thumb used to be a coat per hour for a day, a coat per day for a week, a coat a week for a month and a coat per month for a year. The earlier coats ought to be mixed 50/50 with turpentine for better penetration of the wood. This way a sort of lacquer is built up that is very protective. Between coats wire wool can be used on finer pieces of work for a better finish. In reality i just keep applying it for a couple of days and that has never rreally let me down. Beautiful wood BTW.
  12. It was a monsoon today reducing a tulip tree, and the stein did well for about 4 hours, then it started letting it in around the armpit zips, and then the water just ran down my collar in a river, and down my arms every time i reached up to adjust the prussic, which you cant odds really. Very impressive bit of kit all said and done. It was unbelievably wet in devon.
  13. I saw this sign in Truro the other day, next to a stream running through town, which was about 2' wide, and about 6" deep. They were every 10 yds or so for about 250yds. I couldnt not take a pic. The world has finally flipped:001_rolleyes:
