  1. I use the EKN skylotec and love it, and yes it is available in FB size as it fits me great.
  2. I did it for my RFS cert arb. Thought it was worth doing as I did learn from it. Straight forward and easy.
  3. Mark the ropes yourself. Use waterproof paper and shrink wrap.
  4. Date is relevant as must be under 5 years old
  5. Can anyone tell me the best place to get chipper blades sharpened ? thanks
  6. I'd still have to pay someone to push it.
  7. Yes Stevie, got it from Peter at Prolink
  8. I know SWB did this one recently but I wanted to say how useful I found it. Probably saved us at least 1 day in time and a days pay for an extra body. Customer wanted 2 Horse Chestnuts dismantled, brash chipped and left approx 100m from where the trees were and timber logged and left another 50m further on. Only access was via a path just over 1m wide. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=25268&stc=1&d=1260221300
  9. tickets bought, sure I'll have another punt before it ends.
  10. 1990 Husky 262xp still a great saw and every bit as good as my 2008 Husky 357.
  11. Just keep on going as you are Stevie and try to get your kids swimming somewhere down the line. I was brought up more or less the same as you and I've done the same with my kids (although not so much kids now 19 & 16) but both are still keen to come and give me a hand whenever possible.
  12. What price for the one you have left ?
  13. If you do it yourself you need to have the chapter 8 qualification and apply to LA for permission to erect temp. traffic lights. You may also have to apply for a Road occupancy permit which in my area is free if you occupy the road for less than 24 hrs. I got Lux in recently to do the lights for me (£350 per day) but usually do it myself.
  14. Do any of the tree surveyors among us use lasers for measuring tree height or canopy spread and if so what do you use, how good are they ?
  15. Ed, do you need an operators licence to run one ?
  16. Just finished training and assessment for LOLER examination, tough course Just got to wait for results now, fingers crossed. Anyone else sat it recently, what did you think ?
  17. Jas Wilson at Dalbeattie
  18. Cost me £425
  19. I've done quite a bit of bat survey work, working with a licenced bat handler. Don't have the licence myself but i've lots of experience, good fun & interesting.
  20. Yes Jamie, I confirmed my booking last week.
  21. Jamie, SAC were still trying to sort things out late last week, the girl who sorts bookings etc at Auchincruive is off sick & Rosemary at Lanark has been sorting things, might be worth giving her a call. They can take payment via a card if its quicker for you.
  22. I've got a 3120 and reckon its a good saw for big stuf but too heavy to use for any length of time. I'd rather use my MS650 or old 281.
  23. Wife went to the agri supplier today, couldn,t get uddermint but brought back Mint-ease Liniment cream. Works a treat.
  24. no worries
  25. Ok Stevie, PM me the number and I'll follow it up. Thanks.
