  2. that sucks man thats a thor splitter is it not? we have a horizontal one and often when we have the cross splitting head on and splitting knotty pieces, they can fly straight up at some speed, never wanted to get hit by it
  3. nice selection of saws, but why 341's? never seen the point of that saw, 361 all the way
  4. nice! havent seen an external winch mount on a d3 before! where you going to fix your number plate to now?
  5. orrrr if you can get a really good nick old 044 or the later MS440 that would be good, they are great saws to! i dunno if i would trust one of the new MS441's to many fancy gadgets to go wrong imo
  6. finally been having a go with 2 of them recently, one running a 25" bar and one a 18" bar, amazing saws, my next saw for sure
  7. i've been thinking about camping, not sure yet
  8. fell a tree on the forwarder the other week, was only oak and cherry first thinnings so it was fineeeee,
  9. ahaha very true! my dolmar 166 is up there to so much torque
  10. think you've all seen this, but what the hey
  11. depends what your doing, if your knocking over old growth redwoods all day then your 088 is your everyday use saw haha we use 361's and 440's everyday, we know people who use 460's all day, so above that is what i class as a big saw, so 660 +
  12. no i havent... i was on about stihl chain i have never been impressed by it, so always use oregon, dont know many people that use stihl chain round ere
  13. alsooooooo was talking to an old time timber faller and he said stihl used to make a bar that lasted for literally ever! they stopped making them because apparently they were to strong, so people werent replacing them as often, so they werent making as much money as they could... well thats the story i heard ahhaha
  14. i've noticed this to, bought my granddad a 20" oregon bar for his 440 a while back and it has certainly worn quicker than the old stihl one that was on there
  15. went out last night and forgot to look today , i'll get on it as soon as i get chance
  16. why do you want genuine stihl chain? whats wrong with oregon?
  17. just found this one of mine on the puter
  18. i've probably got a few nuts in the shed, i'll have a look tomorow
  19. thats sucks mate, really gutted to hear that
  20. well done mate passed mine a few weeks ago, tis a sweet feeling
  21. cheers man nah wasnt him, one of granddads contractor mates came along and did it and brought his county along too, gramps doesnt really want anything to go wrong with trees like that so its nice and easier to let someone younger do it, especially with two expensive apple orchards either side aha
  22. yum yum yum show prices jonesie i am pretty sure im gunna be buying my first climbing kit from the apf, if i sorted out a list of stuff and pm'd ya, would you be able to let me know a "rough" price? but i would also like to try on a few harnesses, that cool? also a price on a 200t, thinking i might as well buy new, dont think im gunna go for a sachs dolmar top handle ahaha
