  1. like the previous comment. spray in winter with kerbflo. does not cause problems if sprayed in winter when trees are dorment. pop some down the tube. The only problem with kerb is that it does tend to encourage thistles to grow in the dead area. Might then have to spray with glyphosate to kill them. another warning: when using kerb be aware of runoff in wet weather and on hillsides. If it runs it will kill large areas of grass. This can be most annoying, especially when you tell a former boss that this is likely to happen, but he tells you to spray it anyway. The result was dead fairways on a golf course.
  2. never worn any for 20 years
  3. tubex guards are 0.75m or 0.6m. Don't think you can get 0.70m. Anyhow, assuming they are 0.75m guards. I would be quoting between 50p and 75p each. depending on the going
  4. what size guards?
  5. Thats made my night
  6. wj green ipswich. Had it sent up to me. Think it was about £550 ish. Give them a ring. Yes, dyneema is some sort of strong fabric rope. Someone else will know more about the rope.
  7. Iv'e got one. I run it of a husky 372xp. They work best with that type of clutch setup. don't worry too much about the saw size anything between about 40 and 90cc will do. You will be quite surprised at what they will pull. I did away with the wire rope (supplied) and use dyneema rope as it dosen't kink, like wire.
  8. it's got me stumped too as I cant see anything on nthe attachments
  9. bad day saturday. Turned the chipper over while reversing. first time iv'e ever done that. One wheel went right down a great big rabbit hole that I did'nt see. Took ages to get it of hitch and pull it back upright. Anyway nothing broken but lost a bit of fuel and a hell of a lot of sweat. Then in the afternoon noticed a flat tyre. Getting a bit sick by now. anyway changed that and decided to go home. got home and the drivers side door window was stuck half way down so had to take door panel off and sort that out. boy was i ready for a pint that night
  10. Iv'e used solo for a number of years now. I found them more comfortable than cp. However, there was the odd drip hear and there. I still prefer them to cp. Never used any other makes apart from solo and cp
  11. I've also had dozens of chains snap over the years. Brashing gives them hell. But have never had a nasty incident. They certainly don't go flying too far off the bar. Probably due to chain catcher.
  12. I still use prussic and rope. no plans to change neither
  13. Have just had a look on the net and majorety of sites seem to say you need a booster every 10 years, but like I say, I'm no expert
  14. I think it lasts 10 years. But not sure. It was 11 since I last had mine and they told me I was a year out of date
  15. Just been for the jab today. was a year out of date. You have the tenanus, polio and diptheria jab all in one now. Was out cutting and chipping hawthorn and came home with loads of thorns in me, so thought it was time to go for a jab.
  16. just checked and your right. I stand to be corrected. You learn something everyday they say
  17. I thought fruit trees were exempt from TPO's and Con Areas?
  18. Burnley, heartbreak most seasons for me
  19. Just a thought, but does anyone think that when working on roads chain oil could be a potential danger for road users? I'm talking here about when working above road with saw cutting or ticking over? Is it a skid risk or am I worrying needlessly?
  20. Cheers, thats just what I was looking for.
  21. To be honest, I only need do it to continue working for the caravan club. Not really interested in becoming aa approved
  22. As a business of under 5 employees, I wonder if anyone else has experience of filling in the form. In particular the part about what my action plan is for the year (what the hell does this mean) Have to apply to keep working for a certain client
  23. They just put my PL insurance up from around £400 to £670. I rang the local office and they reduced it to £600 ish, so it's always ringing them
  24. Iv'e posted this before, but be careful with glyphosate as it can translocate to adjacent trees of the same species. It happened to me once when a few adjacent trees started to die. I'm 99% sure it was the glyphosate.
  25. I took my kids to flamingo land zoo a few years ago. Had a good day out. But I remember seeing a big male lion there looking so p.....d off. I have a diffeerent opinion of zoo's since then. I don't think I'll ever see one, but I'd rather see a lion in the wild than behind bars.
