  1. I'm 5"11 an 12st! Lightly so ye does help the kinking issues and fits into the small of your back much better! It's also noticeably thicker giving you a more hugged feel than a clinched feel! I'll let you know how it is in a week so how much it compresses etc!
  2. Well I got one and don't regret it! Excellent addition! Cheers folks!
  3. Micro rigging indeed , does the job, light weight and quick installation! doesnt take up much room on your harness compared to say a swing cheek pulley, biner and a sling. 12strands easy.... have a go!!
  4. Lets see what people have created, we love our uber sleek hitch cords and tight climbing line terminations. Be interesting to see what people are doing with splice and rigging kit. Here's one i knocked up...
  5. Sorry link does work, but for some reason doesnt with iphone just takes me to old site! Liking the new site!
  6. Ohh and it says page not found on your site!
  7. Want to send me one to try out and review

  10. A regional forums are a great idea, as are workshops! I'm lucky to have loads of trees to climb on the estate and more than happy for people to come over for a rec climb/learning if they so wish! In staffs if anyone wants any help/play just pm me!
  11. Ahhh sorry I meant training as in teaching people! Apologies for any confusion!
  12. May be able to help you out, I'm getting some jazz inc samson book from the states brought back by a mate over Easter, I'll see what I can do if you like?

  14. I'm a subby climber.... Just looking at working as a trainer during my down times! Same with first aid as before I got into tree work I was working with west mids ambulance service! Looking for advice in how to get into training not to do some training

    Come Work in NZ

Sup in the southern hemisphere, all well I hope! Right so after Africa at some point i think i'm just going to have to pack my bags and get my ass out for at least a working holiday for a few months..... How essential's formal arb quals i.e Dip etc. I got my tickets, kit and clutter but all my arb knowledge is self taught and on job stuff! I'm not expecting to walk into leader climber jobs, I just want to float about, climbing, grounding, jumping off stuff, seeing friends, drinking beer on beaches that arent covered in crap, opening my eyes and hopefully falling for NZ. Got to say has a lot more draw for me than Oz, even with the money.... Going to do ISA Cert Arb at some point, worth trying to squeeze it in before for a trip over?
  17. And who says they steal our business, they're just trying to give back to the wider community! That's a gob smacker.....
  18. your not the only one... Nice design indeed
  19. Ditto to that, Good advertising when you come across an RTC and all jump out the truck, look after the injured and do a better job of scene management than the police.... Joking aside.. Anything they don't cover and/or you forget to ask send me a pm, will fill you in mate.
  20. FPOS imo is best if you haven't a clue. IMO it's worth being over qualified than under when it comes to first aid. For someone who hasn't got a clue i don't think EFAW courses give you a great knowledge and more importantly, the confidence to use the needed skills! If you just want your arse covered legaly do a one day EFAW course, If you actually want to be confident in what your doing and why your doing it do FPOS basic/Inter. Will give you a wide range of skills, scenarios.
  21. Just pull it out and cut it at mark 3!
  22. Hey folks! I'm doing my pttls soon and was wondering how best to get into training, in all honesty only looking to do climbing as 30/31 would bore me senseless! I've done no training in tree work apart from mates an coworkers etc. Have experience in sports coaching/first aid which has obvious transferable skills in terms of communication with students! I don't want to stop cutting and climbing, do many trainers sub to training companies as well as being on the tools? I'm in staffs if anyone has any region specific info! Does anyone know of anyone who does arb specific first aid courses? Something I'd be keen on doing, incorporating first aid into rescue scenarios etc! Any info would be appreciated!
  23. My buck list would be simply to die knowing I have made a positive impact on my fellow humans and environment during my time on this pretty amazing ball in the sky! I'd like to give back more than I've taken! One part being http://climbingafricasgiants.wordpress.com
  24. I've cut them out of my 45m spliced at both ends, no bunching/ill effects noticed.
