  1. @hilltownorganics I don't think you need to be as wary of petrol engined machines as you seem to think; Honda, Briggs & Stratton etc are reliable. You say you are mainly dealing with small diameter willow brush so how about something like the machines in this range? Look at the prices! 3. Mark I had PF for nearly a year - had to cancel four people doing the West Highland Way because of it. What helped more than any insoles, boots etc were the stretches, icing the foot and gel heel pads inserted into my existing footwear. Also never walk barefoot; thick soled slippers in the house all the time. Raising the heel is more important than padding it because it eases the stretch on the plantar fascia: women - and some men! - can help the condition by wearing heels. - Silicone Support Heel Shoe Pads Gel Orthotic Plantar Care Insert Insoles Cushion WWW.EBAY.CO.UK These gel heel cushions help relieve pain caused by plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and bruised heels. 7. @Dan27 ; as an aside Tulip timber is lovely; if the tree's in good condition consider using the timber for turning or ornamental use. Not your primary concern I know - good luck with your lad - but it strikes me there could be some emotional attachment to the tree.

  20. Here's one played on a mate of mine when he was a probationary PC in the Met posted to Holborn. Tottenham Court Road and Gower Street are (well were many years ago) 30mph speed zones with the traffic lights at each junction phased so that you could drive them at exactly 30mph and have all the lights turn green for you. At around 9am on a sunny summer's morning John was told to find a stepladder and a Phillips screwdriver and attend the junction of Tott Ct Rd and Grafton Way because the lights were out of phase; allegedly the post to which the lights were attached had a Phillips screw in the top of it for adjusting the phasing.
  21. A medical school one related to me by a mate: Professor holds up a small flask of urine and preaches 'there's an easy way to tell if someone's diabetic; their urine is sweet'. So saying he dips a finger in it, quickly withdraws and sticks it in his mouth - 'yes, definitely from a diabetic patient. Smith (sitting in the front row) - you try one'. Smith nervously gets up, approaches the lectern and is offered a different pot of pee, hesitantly dips his index finger in, takes it out and puts it in his mouth. Yuk. Professor had dipped his index finger but licked his middle finger.
  22. So the slice of stump is laid to regrow; cheers. I think I'm there now.
  23. 'Tis too. Fastest it's been in yonks; let's see what it's like Monday!!!
  24. ...2/1 then; how much did you put down?!
  25. Makes sense; a stump of hawthorn will regrow nicely. But @Dorset Hedgelayer sliced the stump down the centre; why? I'm just being thick, not argumentative (on this occasion). Thanks
