  1. On my mate's farm in Caithness last week
  2. A good part of the reason for diverting was to experience the Tarmachan Cafe in Crathie; it's highly recommended by my daughter who was there a month ago touring with a couple of girlfriends. I was there on Tuesday of last week. Guess which day the cafe closes along with Sunday 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
  3. I drove past it last week while taking a detour through the Cairngorms for a change from the A9. It is something else; as Julian says it's surreal. And the detour was so worth it; what a drive up to Glenshee, Lecht and then back to Inverness via Tomintoul. Stopping for a panini and coffee along the way of course

    Jokes???

Like Mick Dundee in Noo York!
  5. Ever thought of going into sports field management? 😁
  6. Yep, just as likely 😂
  7. Wish I'd kept my mouth shut now. 10 acres? Great stuff; puts my square yards into a sort of 'how small do I feel' perspective! Respect for that 👍 We have Common Spotted and Pyramidal orchids; I'm surprised to see them flowering in what until this year was always lawn.
  8. Just to speculate here and I am doing only that... Suspect is identified and interviewed: the matter is put to the CPS who say 'insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction'. Police and RSPB say '*** it; give us £100 then'. Pure speculation and £100 sort of voluntary payment (it's not a fine) is pathetic
  9. Or you could forego the 'pleasure' of mowing and enjoy the motion of the grass, the bugle, the buttercups, the clover, the bees, the butterflies... 😊
  10. No, not replaced the brushes. I have no idea how much use the thing had before I was given it a few years ago. It's a 140E
  11. Classic English pear shape as my classically English pear shaped lady likes to put it ...or 'I'm built for comfort, not speed'!
  12. I have a ?30 year old corded Stihl on a 12" bar and it's great; sounds exactly what you need. You may be surprised by the oomph; I have no qualms about using it to ring up stuff that needs the bar cutting from both sides. I'll bring it with me when I drop off that axe head - one day...
  13. Friend of the Devil by The Grateful Dead? 😊

    Jokes???

  15. Me too. The lack of respect that Volvo gets is nothing short of bullying; Alec you should be ashamed 😁
  16. Odd; on my course (1986) we were made to double declutch going up and down the gears on a synchro box!
  17. I took out a long dead stump for someone a couple of years ago that was at least 18" 6 feet off the ground. Would have been lovely turning wood but was too far gone sadly. As for their age I don't know.
  18. Eng certainly deserved the win on balance; Denmark have done themselves proud. I'm just about there with the TMO in rugby but what the **** is VAR there for if it's not to get decisions right?!
  19. A friend manages the woodland of an estate at Billingshurst, West Sussex. He needs someone to do a bit of brushcutting and spraying of brambles. If you have the relevant quals re the spraying and are interested please PM me and I'll put you in touch. Thanks, Jon

    Jokes???

Nearer five times for me but got there in the end 🥴
  21. I agree Pete but much of what he says has a large ring of truth to it, e.g. Boris himself saying 'how did I ever get to be PM?'! But yes, he's a jilted lover and no mistake; time to STFU!
  22. The OP is a bit east of there - Wilts/Dorset border
  23. I'm good thanks Mark. The sign - I'd forgotten too! Leave it for now; I'll PM you about it. 👍
