  1. Intermittent... lucky you! It's persisting down persistently here in East Hoathly 😊
  2. It's not a Larch sawfly I don't reckon; Google says that's different https://images.app.goo.gl/y4cFuzx2uqvDaPg19
  3. A couple from the garden a few days back; Painted Lady and (I think) Silver Washed Fritillary. I really need to get one of those zoom lenses for phones! And for any plant buffs the Buddleia's Black Knight!
  4. A striking wee beasty. The Rosy Footman apparently
  5. @Stubby - that's what you get for being obtuse. Stop it or it's the naughty corner for you my boy 😄
  6. Someone with better knowledge tell me I'm barking up the wrong tree with a suggestion of Kretzschmaria with HF as a likely secondary infection...
  7. @Anno Thanks very much; I'll certainly keep that gov.uk one in mind. At this stage I think I need to be careful to distinguish between 'developer', which I'm not, andn 'house owner', which I am; I did see also somewhere in the BCT website a big distinction between 'dwelling' and 'other buildings' but offhand I can't remember what that distinction is. I'm going to spend lots of money on an 0345 helpline later today and reveal minimal personal details! I shall keep you informed 😊
  8. Anyway... no takers?
  9. Well that would be nice; I could write the report and have the surveyor simply put his name to it for £X! I don't think a bat survey would be so woolly though; the report presumably would say either 'I did find evidence of bats present' or 'I didn't find evidence...'
  10. Thanks Khriss; I'm aware of the potential world of bother if you play by the rules. I'm slightly encouraged by the claim in the National Bat Helpline website that most roosts are for summer use and that the bats relocate to hibernate. I still need someone to do the survey though; I though loads of tree guys had such a ticket! Perhaps not...
  11. The housing market has always been a boom-bust one and I don't expect that to change. I'm not knowledgeable enough to understand all the economics but yes, the market will dip in line with history but I just don't know when or exactly why!
  12. I need to get a bat survey done on my house. Yes, you heard right. Is there anyone near BN8 who could do this for me please? Cheers, Jon
  13. Ffs - you and your Croydon PTSD - go and get it sorted!

  15. Not quite armfuls but certainly not a stem at a time; fistfuls... But do try to avoid feeding large amounts of the leaf without some stems too; they're fibrous so can wrap but it's no biggie - I've chipped Phormium (New Zealand Flax) without issue
  16. Bamboo's no problem to sharp blades and correct anvil gap. I have a wee chipper and chip the stuff regularly; never had a problem with it. Laurel's fine too; I love the smell. That cyanide... oh yeah!
  17. I find the Croydon tree team very good; 9 times out of 10 I get same day response to TPO/CA checks
  18. Wow. Dreamy

  20. This is better than television! Sorry to be trite @Slad but it is intriguing - you joining up the dots. Good work and keep it up
  21. No, trespass is not a criminal offence although there are offences of Criminal Trespass (not applicable here). I'm sure it won't come to it but if things turn nasty civil law allows injunctions, in this case probably 'to not enter any land or premises owned or controlled by X (you)'. Breaching that - a Court order - is like Contempt of Court; it doesn't go down well and attracts substantial penalties because it's basically a snub of the Court. Just for your info though as I say I'm sure things won't get near that state of affairs in your case.
  22. ..and peace (see first 2/3 of your post), social welfare, a national health service etc etc

  25. Gents, how are you getting this accuracy? My understanding of such matters is that even Land Registry records often don't allow boundary disputes to be settled; final determination could be down to a court of law.
