  1. Has any one used the Protech p220 on a 5 ton machine to knock strainers in in hard ground? would be very interested to hear opinions. Oh and sorry to hijack
  2. No problem Dean, We have 12 rads! 4 of which are double ones, 4 smalls and the rest slandered. We have a slandered 135l tank directly above the Clearview. As for running it all depends on the weather, at this time of year we fire the stove once every 2 days (at kids bath time) and that gives us enough hot water for 24hours and 2 bath sessions. During the winter i run the stove all day long with the c/h pump set to come on once the water in the hot water tank reaches 70 degrees (this is changeable depending on if we require heating more than hot water) All our bed room rads are set on low (3 of them) we have 2 rads in the library/study that are also set on lowish. All the rest are set on full.....its cosy!! Hope that's of some help to you
  3. Hi just stubbled along this thread, I have by the sounds of it the same set up as you with a Clearview 650 with wrap around boiler. The one difference is i had a esse centralizer installed just below the hot water tank, as people have said before this only release's hot water to the tank when the clearview is up to heat. It works a treat ok we burn allot of wood but we don't spend any money on gas etc etc. One thing that does worry me about all these comments about valves etc is that the system must be open in case of a power cut. any way good luck
  4. Just had the last 4 days of work, due to being a idiot. Won a large clearance contract and ignored my own RA ended up with my left arm covered from the back of my hand to where my t shirt started with blisters some of them 1 inch long. STAY covered when striming!!!! thank god i had the full visor. Oh also got loads on the back of my neck as well. Will have to be careful with the sun for the rest of the year and maybe even the next 2 years as well.
  5. Don't forget with a permissive path to close it once or twice a year!! Even if a path is logged with the LA the oddity's of PROW law are very odd. By closing the path once or twice a year and RECORDING the closure will mean that no one can claim on it. Its complicated stuff.

  8. I have a l200 4 work and love it, I have the double cab version for the kids etc. Its a 53 plate and done just over 200k now. Ok i have had to replace a couple of clutches (both my fault with over loaded trailers going up grass banks) and the fuel injection pump. Its also very smooth on the road plus the mpg is not to bad.
  9. you might want to say that you are all ready doing forestry, as most of the grant money around at the moment is about adding skill/value to forestry and agriculture.

  13. A town has a town Charter, that why Bishops castle population of only 1800 or so is a town and not a Village.
  14. All i burned last year was Alder that was felled the previous winter, seasoned in the open and left in the open all winter......i was and my family was toasty all winter. Great wood. Oh and some willow as well now i come to think of it.
  15. Went there on Saturday for the wife's 40th, fantastic place and fantastic trees. There was about 20 adults and 20 kids and oh how the kids (big and small) loved those trees.
  16. Old stile kits and what ever rubbish i pull out of hedges doing rights of way work.
  17. I have lived in Shropshire for the last 22 years, fantastic place as the above poster said north Shropshire fairly affluent and may i say a little boring. South Shropshire has all the hills and is unspoilt. If you want a bit of a alternative life style head over to Bishops Castle in the south west of the county. South Shropshire also has the lowest population per sq mile in England. Tom P.s i Love it

I messed around for ages with cheep makes until i got fed up of batteries wearing out running out of power miles from home etc etc etc. In my opinion as well much better than the dewalt ones ( i have used both). You can also get circular saws, jig saws etc etc that use the same batteries. Tom
