my first chipper was a gravity fed pto. totally shite. dangerous in so many ways. constantly got blocked, whacked the life out your fingers. if anyone wants it they can have it. i am not delivering it. its in inverkip.

howdy, the chipper that was on my valmet before i bought it was the same, it had the top roller conversion. my tractor has a camera on it for when they were feeding it.(blind spot they said) it has a pile of weights on it. mine is the 8950.
would love one but not got the money or the work to justify it to be honest but if the woodfuel pics up in my area then thats the chipper for me. cheers for the invite, same to you if you are ever up this way mate. stevie

you probably loosened it dragging the brash over the wall. bit of sawdust, bit of moss off the grass. all fixed. proper job -
if its a turfor it works in both directions. you could lower the whole tree for a laugh. i would think its pretty chewy. but to be honest if its standing give it a few kicks then get up it. keep us posted mate

if i am going to try that i will say mr smith recomends felling,grinding out the stumps. all material stays on site as habitat and replant with pops and willow in a trench of horse shite:001_tongue:

i have lost count the amount of times i have done that. its when some old person leaves a message on the answer machine but you can hardly make it out except for the surname. so when the wee lady answers and i say is that mrs smith, and she says yes, then i say i think mr smith must have called me today. then she bursts out crying explaining mr smith has been dead for 4 years. try backtracking out of that.

i have seen attachments for chainsaws mat, cant remember where. most probably u tube mate.

it looks like you guys are working in woodland, cant you just drop stuff? when you say snatch do you mean lower? i do as little lowering as possible, make a bed with the brash as you go up, knock the head out, and just cut and drop onto your pile. or if there is room crank it over with the turfer. but really hard to say with pics, you guys obviously know what you are doing. tell me how your arms are after turfering all day.lol

what is your concern? the river banking or the species? willow is great to work with, cuts like butter and is nice and chewy.

i have a chain breaker and riveter if anyone is interested i also have an electric chain sharpener with loads of discs. its the grinder with the clamps. it came from a hire shop that closed down. open to offers. i will take pics tomorrow.

i will give it a try coz it is a pain in the ass trying to balance the saw on its side and there isnt much metal to get a grip of with the ratchet.cheers.

i have a big tractor instead now and no staff. i dont work as far a field as i used to either. but even if i do sell it i will probably get a u1200.
