  1. it is good to practice this, but not to apply pressure, if you hold a dog down you must be calm. you cant just grab it and pin it down. dont wind the dog up either. good fun for a laugh but it wont do any favours. dean is right, dogs come last in the pecking order. if you clap a dog or reward a dog, you are only re inforcing its behaviour. so if it has been good that is ok, but dont give it a treat or clap it if it growls or jumps about. watch the dog whisperer, the guy is a genius. get your daughter to feed the dog, put its bowl down and dont let it feed until she gives it permision. i hardly use my dogs names any more, they look to me for commands, i keep it simple they, they arent aloud to do squat unless i say. but they will always push you here or there if they have a touch od dominance. but dont put your wee girl in a tricky situation. common sense really. it took me a while but now i can walk my 3 dogs in one hand and hold alexanders hand with the other, he takes the 2 terriers, tonight he walked infront of me and the 2 dogs panicked because they were infront of me and just sat down and looked worried, so he walked infront and i took the dogs. :001_smile:oh, my dogs are in a kennel where they belong

  6. holly smokes tcd you have had a rough, i can relate to the hunted down dreams, trying to run away and not getting anywhere. the bit that woke me up was when i became a dad and husband, i would find myself saying stuff i didnt believe in but it had been drummed into me as a kid. speaking nastily too my wife, treating others badly. it just wasnt me but i was doing it. i obviously never had it as bad as you mate, the hypno was the only thing i tried and it worked. so its all i know to recommend. i am glad you posted mate, your knowledge will surely answer others questions therefore help. good on you mate, sorry i never got to see you the other week, hopefully next time:001_cool:

  16. cheers, far far away though:crying:
  17. its all in your natural make up, the guy who runs 20,000 workers didnt just get there by chance. he was chosen and trained accordingly. most of us are good at cutting down trees and physically good at most things, but are we mentally equiped for running our own business?probably not. i know what position i would have in a big company, because i have been tested for it. i would be a team leader, not a managing director. ideally in charge of woman between 55 and 65. and if an important decision should be made i should seek advice from above as i am too spontanious. thats me down to a tee.
  18. very true huck, the problem is people fall into patterns. always rushing around, always skint, always having run ins with folk, etc. what you have to do is break the pattern and start a fresh. if you leave the house every morning without your breakfast or making a pack lunch. you are going to be hungry all day, if you file your invoices on the floor of your truck they are never going to get paid. avoid what you know brings you grief, give yourself a new set of rules and stick to them.
  19. i would love to know the story about that, i have thrown a few toys out my pram in my day:ohmy:
  20. the one i did was 82 years old, they really do grow fast mate. but as you say its all down to soil type and conditions:001_smile:
  21. i did some multi stemmed connys yesterday, dug out all the usual football, kids toys and stones, but on the last one we kept hitting something nasty, after a good few sharpens and sweary words we hacked it apart with a crowbar, we reckon it was an old filter of some kind, the metal was as good as new but all the centre stuff was like solidified paper.
  22. greay job there marc, i dont think the pics will do the size of the tree justice. some excellent kit there mate. i bet qtips slept well that night
