  1. as long as there are crazy customers, breakdowns and bad weather, i am sure the thread will be kept going, but it would be great if it didnt and everyone was ok, but thats just my ideal world mate:001_smile:
  2. sell it to developers for 60 flats mate, stuff your nieghbours:mad1: i hate it when others cant let you get on with your life, get yourself a big roofmount and drive up and down the road all day, that will cheer them up:001_cool:
  3. that just looks like your personal firewood pile to me bbb, your yard and house look immaculate mate, dont know much about the planning laws though sorry.
  4. after the stress thread i started yesterday, out of all the members that replied, did you feel it helped just having the chance to get it off your chest?
  5. i just need something to chip now. really impressed with the build quality, never seen a schiesling up close before.cheers tom
  6. i like the idea, as i have just started to practise with the hc, but my worry would be the control or lack of it, with your hand the slightest touch can make all the difference.
  7. no bother with me mate, all ok
  8. recieved a little parcel today, can anyone think who might of been kind enough to send me a little prezzy.the winner will recieve an arbtalk t-shirt.
  9. well its here and i am delighted, amazing build quality and well thought out. dont know what i am going to do about it covering the offside front light though, maybe huck will give me some pointers, and i need to extend the shoot.
  10. bad news mate, you guys are having it rough. hope they get them, but it still doesnt fix your wrecked kit
  11. it wont be on the linkage mate, bolted straight onto the din plate, it is on its way, just popped home for lunch. so i will find out how much it sticks out, i will need to get it wired for the indicators aswell. forgot about that:sad:keep you posted tonight mate:001_smile:
  12. i dont like things that can kill you that you cant see mate. gas+ electricity plus 250 feet up hanging onto a helicopter is a bit off putting:scared1:
  13. its all back to good staff, i would come back from emptying chip or making calls and nothing would be happening, it would drive me nuts, then they would go in little hufties, worse than kids. i just wish some of the guys on here lived a little closer. tell you what dave, if you get stuck i will help you and vice versa. the kids can work in the knicker sweat shop and the wifes can start a molly maid and nailer can run the whole show from his range rover, we can race the mogs all day( i will let you win sometimes)
  14. i would tom, its all i go on about mate, i am always sending folk to my hypno guy, friends, coleagues, customers. i have never spoke to anyone about this kind of stuff who hasnt just clicked, some say" lot of rubbish i just go to the pub" they really need help i think just too scared to say, macho crap. i now have buzz words in my head, and pictures in my mind to cheer me up that mr hypno put there. it is just great. did you try my arm test??
  15. cheers, i forgot to get some off justin, you have just reminded me. look on search for the other threads on it, there is one with a pig, and masterblaster swears by it:001_cool:
  16. good on you tommer, all it takes is someone to say something that will just 'click' for someone else. and it could turn their life around. i have started going out at nights climbing before my arbmeal, lol. i am enjoying climbing again. i now know why guys on here know every rope and gadget that is out there.steve asked me what kind of harness i had at capel, i said a red one, i footlocked for the first time in my life tonight, with my new hitchclimber. awesomo. i didnt want to come back in i was enjoying it that much. when someone talks about something you can relate to its amazing, its like being a new parent, you feel so alone and crap at it, then you go out and meet other young parents and we are all in the same boat. it is so re-asuring i feel.
  17. you obviously run a tight ship, hats off to you, i used to love working that way until i had a family, i like the option of staying in the house an extra half hour to get the kids up if my wife is tired, or if the wee one needs picked up early from nursery i can just go round and pick him up. each to their own, hope it all works out for you.
  18. thats because you dont know what others have went through, what do you suggest, for others to stick their head back in the sand and worry alone.or have somewhere to talk, and get some friendly advice. i know 2 guys that committed suicide at an early stage in life, i also know a lot that have tried. they felt alone and never spoke to anyone about it. a waste of life imo
  19. we all should but it isnt an ideal world, all it takes is one cog in the big machine to break and it falls apart. you cant alawys get your clients to be in all at the same time for pricing, highly maintained machines still break down, people get sick, traffic jams, crazy nieghbours. its cash flow that kills small businesses. if the guys dont finish a job properly do they go back in their own time and fix it, no chance. all it takes is a customer to hold back one cheque, or a bank holiday weekend to stop your cheques clearing by another 2 days to cripple you.
  20. especially when you get to the job and some numpty has left a car in the driveway, or you get a breakdown and the 3 man team has already filled the garden with brash and you know you need to make 3 pounds fifty a minute to make a profit. i feel the heartburn coming on again:thumbdown:been there done that. one man band and groundie dave, get your wife to sell knickers on ebay, my mates wifes pal makes 20k a month doing that. buy a container full of knickers from thailand and turn the garage into a launjery distribution outlet:001_tt1:
  21. if the workers are on peace work and the weather is always good and you get no daily snags and all jobs are right beside each other it could work and every one gets paid one week after the boss.
  22. go for it, if you want to swing about trees with a chainsaw and make money. well thats different. it takes years to learn the right skills on the ground before you should do it in trees. but recreational climbing, now thats different. climbing techniques are one thing, chainsaw skills are another. you obviously work in a nice place and enjoy life mate, you should go to the AA show in june and get shown the ropes so to speak. i am just back in after walking the dogs and playing in trees. its very relaxing.
