  1. with you on that john, but for all the sunshine we get up here and its not very much when the sun does come out and they cant get sunbathing or see their lovley view then most of them just want it gone for as little as possible
  2. i will not take sides as i dont know the full story. It sounds like he is bullying you as he is annoyed and stressed. you have let him walk over you before so he isnt used to it, at least you can ask advice here, years ago i would just have to sit in my bedroom terrified about going back to work and couldnt tell anyone. Threatening folk isnt acceptable and the fct that he is a grown man and you are a youngster makes it worse. simply think back to when he paid you and for how many hrs. write it on a bit of paper and sign it simple. if he is stupid enough to think that the tax man will find this acceptable if he is ever investigated then more fool him. Dont worry and dont rehearse all the bad things that you think MIGHT happen, because they wont. If you feel threatened then dont bottle it up or hide away from it, that is the worst thing you can do. I know the horrible feeling you probably have in your stomach well, it isnt nice and it does make you worry. But you dont need to, any man that threatens a child(dont take this wrong) is a coward. If you are really concerned and ytou think he may do something then go and see the police, he is relying on your fear and his intimidation.
  3. i have been working out justin so i may need an xtra large around the arms and chest now:001_tongue:large will be fine mate:thumbup1:
  4. i think the seins look great for the price and if steve, reg, tommer and rich say they are ok then they must be, if you are grafting then you will sweat, but if it is a monsoon then a bit of sweat is nothing compared to the downpour. I opt for the van or gym now in the rainy days. but i always have a shnuggly cossy fleece stashed somewhere in a vehicle, cant beat it, get the soggy stuff off and something warm and fresh for the drive home. go on justin, send me one up. can i have a grey one please.
  5. thats awesome steve, well until i saw the ladder mate, lol. are your thighs dead or something he he. can you do all that from in the tree or do you get a groundie or someone to tell you what else might need taking off to keep it looking so good??
  6. we can only work with what we are given, if the council leaves a row of big trees then allows a block of flats to be built then if one customer wants light and the other wants screen. you try recomending any other type of work. i live on the coast, houses are built on a terrace, one overlooking the other with a great view in front, so yes sycamores and hollies and gums that grow well on the coast can act as a great screen, cover a wide area and take a heavy prune. so they get topped, pollarded whatever you want to call it. i recomend other stuff but they arent interested, or they have bought a conifer from a garden centre with the famous words 'grows no more than 2m' on a label. i explain exactly to my customers what the trees will look like, what i recomend they should do, but as most folk are living in a house for about 10 years at a time now i recon then they arent bothered.
  7. going by all those pollards i thought you were in largs for a second dave, proper job. no namby pamby 10%reductions for the europeans eh:thumbup:
  8. as david says they are full of metal, they will last forever thats for sure though. where are you based?
  9. big old tree that steve, i love the ripy tear hinges, sweet stuff a bit of green willow for firing under yourself. a hinge worthy of a close up to mate on the stem. sweet
  10. kilma airs all the way, comfy, very supportive and totally waterproof. was in and out a little stream/burn the other day andmy feet were bone dry. very pleased with them
  11. i am 6 foot mate, i got let off lightly. it is a nightmare for my dad being that tall, getting into cars and always hitting his head of stuff is a pita for him, and now he has to travel business class to have enough room flying, so it costs a fortune. but it is handy for hedge cutting and stuff lol ps, thanks guys
  12. have you tried starting it in the last 6 months david. lol. mine was like that, when i was working it 12 hrs a day it never faultered, when it started sitting about and hardly getting used, things would just go on it, never anything major, just air stuff. it was the downtime that was the ball ache. enjoy it for now mate and just dont turn it off
  13. we call it stv, 3 to you guys on normal telly. the last in the series, he has went from atlantic to pacific. i didnt know theseries was on, looked awesome. i think this will be on my christmas stocking list

  15. this is my dad, he was on holiday in canada a few weeks back and took these pics. my dad is 6'8" to give you idea of scale:001_smile:
  16. yeah but in the good old days they used the wood for stuff, so 5 years growth wasnt much use to them:001_tongue:
  17. tool box is handy, roof is esential i think with a rear mounted chipper. keep it within the width of the mog mirrors for sure. top hinges like cylage back doors. i have a removable stainless roof that was on my 2150 if thats any use.
  18. water smatter, wheres the pics of the sexy camoflage kit???you cant do this mate:sneaky2:
  19. i have seen regen do that aswell, grows great guns then dies off, its like the trees final last sprint before the end. i know what you are saying dave about the leafs feeding the tree, but surely the roots nutrient intake must be doing something to to get the ball rolling. simon, i know what you are saying about regrowth, pollards or coppice should be done every 13-17 yrs i read, due to the weakness of the stems. but when you are trying to save something surely it doesnt matter what it look like. i know this is my customers point of view, they would rather a futty lolipop than no tree at all:001_smile:
