  1. Have to say dealing with Ashley was effortless and a breath of fresh air. No nonesense, no drama and the Safetrak is like new , good to see the dealers keeping up Greenmechs reputation.
  2. Keep those seats, they are things of beauty! I comfy as hell as you sit almost flat in the floor, great battle bus though!
  3. Is that the awesome 4 speed auto with about 9 seats??
  4. Sounds like you need a tracked chipper, as useable as a wee chipper is, it’s still a wee chipper. The bigger the chipper the better has always been my motto until you can’t get 1 in. I’ve just bought a safetrak 1928 off Arbtrader, I rarely do domestic work now, it’s mostly woodland and commercial clearances with chip staying on site. I wouldn’t entertain a micro chipper on those applications.
  5. The tracks cause more hassle than they benefit from my experience. You loose all the nimbleness and ease of weaving through patios, conservatories and even houses. 2 fit lads can lift a wee chipper up and down stairs with using a bit of grunt and some ingenuity. Tracks in a garden just shove paving stones around and rip up grass. Also very unstable and messing around with 2 engines is just a pain. First thing I did when I got mine was go to the gym and tell the instructor I need the strength to pull a wheely bin full of bricks. 4 weeks later I could shove the chipper almost anywhere myself. I don’t know how Pezalto are getting away with shortened hopper, it’s only removed because it sits too high for anyone under 6’4” to feed.
  6. I told Ash the story of buying Gloria off you at Justin’s show! She’s good for another 10 years!?
  7. Your arm in the no stress, just hold onto the stuff you know will go through too quickly.
  8. Only stuff my CS 100 didn’t like was dead Sitka! She’s off to pastures new today. Depreciated 40% in 10 years. Original plug, only thing I replaced was the pull chord!
  9. Traded Gloria in for those that remember! 10 years and never broke down or given any bother! I’ve sold her before and bought her back but this time I think it will be for good ?
  10. I’d never of thought of that!
  11. Found this Skull in a Beech hedge, any ideas? Im in the Highlands, Googled Pine Martin/Squirrel/Adder/Pike just wild guessing. Appreciate any help, thanks
  12. Ha ha never thought of that, it’s been so long since I drove a shopping trolley thankfully.
  13. Hi, my 190 in-feed only works when I hit the green button, then stops the second I let go. Advice welcome please. thanks
  14. No unfortunately it's rear tip but dropping the chipper is only a few min, putting it back on is a little more tricky but once I fit the camaras this week it should be a lot easier but as long as you have a spotter it wasn't bad doing it last week. Stick some heavy duty trolley wheels on the chipper and if your on hard standing the groundies can push it on like a Tesco trolley!?
  15. Very cool trailer, I remember seeing 1 that A C Price made years ago behind a big mog. They were side tip, can you empty yours without removing chipper?
  16. I know that feeling Dan, thankfully I spend more time in a digger than I do hauling myself up trees now.
  17. Look at what TP/Ducker chippers have, simplest I’ve seen.
  18. Arb digger thread, not fuel duty thread.
  19. Think you need a bigger rope Dan? or what I’ve done in the past is have a change over rope, choker a strop and pulley midway, or where you need to , 15’ say before your rope runs out. An odd time I’m up 100’ plus I’ll climb on my big lowering rope on my pulley.its about 300’ long so i will run out of bravery before I do rope! It’s great because it’s about 2” thick and great to grip.
  20. I was told this when I did my rescue ticket by the instructor.
  21. In theory we should all work with a qualified rescue climber and a competent ground crew. Their rescue line should be pre installed and you shouldn’t do anything that puts any of your rescue procedures at risk. If you can’t knock off a big limb without it dragging down the tree and maybe damaging your line, then don’t do it, if you can’t be trusted not to cut your main line for whatever reason this is not a problem with the rescue system, this is the climbers failing. If we work outside industry best practice for whatever reasons then we are creating a risk that’s not been factored into the safe practice, so it’s not safe practice.
  22. I’d say you are right about the weight, the machine moved it effortlessly , the side shift power in the back actor is a huge difference compared to wrestling with 2.7tonner.
