  1. I thought it was Dulux:001_smile: Good pics. farinacea....as in flour I presume.
  2. Did a line of leaning mature Corsicans. TO wanted c30/40% and managed to get away with c20%. Combined it with a v light thin. Trees looked good at the time and still do.
  3. Fieldfare or mistle thrush.
  4. This the one? Had to put it up again....better looking that the gf
  5. We've fixed some clips to the n/s chassis rail and slide it in from the back of the vehicle. Secure but gets dirty.
  6. What's the FB on third pic?
  7. Everybody was born under a particular tree (the same as our own zodiac sign) of which this months Tree ‘The Silver Birch’ was the first in the calender falling between 24th December and 20th January. My Mom said I was found under a gooseberry bush so that must be March:001_smile:
  8. I'm always impressed by the continental approach. Those leafy French squares with pollarded planes are something else.
  9. My ex wife had that. Bought the lamp and vits. Didn't work. Next theory: her Mom, Dad, sister, brother had all conspired against her hence the sadness....hmm! Must be me! I 'worked too much, fished too much, shot too much etc'. Didn't work either So she enrolled on some 'look at yourself and others around you beligerence course' and hey presto.....it was me! All's well then? Get rid of the thing that's causing the problem. So she did...and guess what? She's still searching and taking the vits. Me? Happy thank you very much:thumbup:
  10. Verticillium Wilt? Was there any vascular staining?
  11. It can be. Several different designs. There are a few basic rules with chimneys assuming it's not blocked. If you've had it ticking over for a while the chimney may not be warm enough so smoke tends to slow down as it rises and backs up. The amount of air moving up the chimney has to match the amount of free ventilation coming into the house. Draughtproof house and not enough air coming in. Wind direction can cause a downdraught or reduce the venturi effect on the pot. A cowl will help. Good luck.
  12. Sounds a neat idea to me. Presumably ram on the dumper is double acting so basically just a straight swap on hydraulics. May have to put a flow control on if the pump is too fast.....but there again I'm probably way off:001_smile: I'd have a go anyway!
  13. I've suffered with it on and off for years along with golfers' elbow which affects other side. Not as badly as you but painful. All I can do is take Ibuprofen and try and avoid putting too much strain on it which ain't easy!
  14. Isn't there a commercial use for bamboo of that size? Garden centres etc down there?
  15. They don't sell sharp knives cos in this namby pamby state they think we might cut ourselves. I love sharp tools and for an everyday knife the Opinel takes some beating. Takes an edge to shave with. I'm just frightened of losing expensive knives.
  16. Only phase one! I've searched for the next phases to no avail. Is this some kind of closed shop? Will I ever aspire to phase two and beyond? Seems like I'll only ever get to swing a bat about in rage hoping to clobber one or two unlike you with sophisticated detection equipment.
  17. Found a training video for gnome huntin'. Doesn't seem as technical as yours though. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJoMlfNrlEA]YouTube - Osama bin Gnome hunt[/ame]
  18. I have a spaniel that's a nuisance 'pegging' elves in the wood. If he can't find them then I'll go with your gnome diagnosis. Do you use proprietory gnome detecting apparatus?
  19. Don't be fooled by the cuteness. Nasty little things.
  20. I think you're being a bit presumptious re. gnomes. As we all know elves and trolls can inflict similar damage. Before recommending a gnome control policy you need to ascertain the true culprit as the control measures for these little critters is different.
  21. What about those native tribes cutting teepee poles many moons ago. I thought you were refering to their arboricultural history and research.
  22. Hornbeam....beautiful hot burning wood.
  23. Ah in this throw away society even skills are not immune. Yes I do believe that if the pandemic scenario happened many people would not have the skills to survive. This is not their fault. We all rely on a small percentage of people (farmers, growers) to provide for us in a busy life. What I see of more concern is the agricultural and forestry monoculture. Vast tracts of the same species/var. being wiped out by whatever superbug or disease that we are incapable of controlling. So as long as we all demand cheap food diversity in agriculture won't happen unless we dig deep and pay up.
