  1. The show needs a protagonist...are you back?

  2. As the chain goes round a narrow tipped bar the back of the cutting links hit the timber. You need to grind them back to avoid this ie make them shorter.
  3. As I don't like coming down to help out on clean ups: a flask of sloe gin, packet of Bath Olivers, slice of Dolcelatte and a copy of the Beano.
  4. That one's gone too even for stump killing.
  5. That's the most extreme lions tailing I've ever seen...assuming it's man made!
  6. You could go the whole hog. Really get it scavenging, proper expansion chamber etc. Ear splitting crackle from the exhaust and power that comes in at 9000rpm with a bang

Right...my truck's a mess, the house needs painting, garage is cluttered and would you like to clean up our jobs.
  8. Had a phone call yesterday from a local farmer who buys our cord etc for firewood sales. An Italian guy has turned up in his yard, flash motor etc, offering to sell three brand new Stihl MS 44s for £700 as he's been to exhibition and doesn't want to take them back to Italy. He asks me if they're a good buy and I rant on about scams, cons Chinese copies etc. As soon as the farmer asks guy if they're Chinese he's off in his car with saws. Just thought I'd let you know they're about and beware.
  9. Got a couple of people coming to look at weekend so I'll take the best offer by Sunday pm.
  10. Great fun...get biddin' :-)
  11. Many years ago....about '82 as an improving tree surgeon I was working with a guy and we had a job to fell a big elm in the garden of the secretary of the Conservative party and sidekick to Maggie Thatcher. He decided to fell it in one with me as winchman. To cut it short there was too much tension on the winch cable and the tree split off sideways taking out the conservatory, chimney and tiles off the gable end. We rushed to the house because he and his sister had been standing in the conservatory watching proceedings. Luckily they'd moved quickly but he was being fed heart pills in the kitchen and the framed photo of Mrs Thatcher was shattered. Looking back we saw the funny side but at the time it was scary.
  12. I think the best way is to say we're open to offers around £500-600. Anyone who wants to view is welcome to. Drop me a pm for my no. and we can arrange to view. The nearest town is Stafford to give you an idea of distance. Checked the hitch and it swivels and each pair of wheels pivot independently.
  13. The chains are run slack to enable them to run round the tip of a narrow carving bar. If you're using a standard bar then run the chain as normal.
  14. The trailer is for sale. The twin wheels pivot independently on each side but not sure about the hitch...will have to take a look.
  15. Cheers mate. Gives me a ball park figure.
  16. I'm pricing a job part of which requires some work inside an electricity and gas sub-station. We'll need a climber with the relevant tickets to undertake a small (10%) crown reduction on a medium sized beech. About half days work but obviously we'd pay for a whole day. Anyone here available to do this if tender is successful?
  17. Does anyone have an idea what this trailer may be worth? It's a mini forwarding trailer for a quad. Made by RA Trailers it's virtually unused although stood under trees for a couple of years so it looks a bit grubby.
  18. Nothing is a concept that describes the absence of anything at all. Colloquially, the concept is often used to indicate the lack of anything relevant or significant, or to describe a particularly unimportant thing, event, or object. It is contrasted with something and everything. Nothingness is used more specifically as the state of nonexistence of everything.......I want one
  19. Don't worry mate...just going to be a few showers and warm. Got to look on the bright side.
  20. Yamaha man; WR450, WR250 and YZF600
  21. These are the people although the chippers have changed name. http://www.fletcherstewart.co.uk/homepages/company_history.php
  22. Turner re-badged them in the 80s later to become Greenmech.
  23. Have a big can of teak oil. I'll try that.
