  1. My Mum had a red MG Maestro Turbo so steady on! Racing shed maybe but 0-60 in 6.7 seconds was profound!
  2. Just a glitch in the cosmic tumblers I reckon. They started ringing back mid afternoon.
  3. What is it with this?! Not the first time. Just weird. Absolutely everyone I try to call, thus far about 20 people - no answer. One regular contacts number is even saying "you've dialled an incorrect number" when I 10000000% haven't. Grrrrrrrrr.
  4. I'm thankfully old enough to have lived in the Glory years: Fast forward to 1:16. Best I can find of Maybach music. [ame] [/ame]
  5. Indeed. That top-end sound is very Stork-Werkspoor. The 8 makes the same music. But it's the audible muscle in the exhaust which is simply breathtaking. Near as damn it the same video; a touch clearer. I need to get to Newlyn for a fix. [ame] [/ame]
  6. Nemo / Fiorino / Bipper. Same van but still in that order. 1.3 is very shy on juice.
  7. I KNOW!!! Since the customer's got money to burn, why don't you get a freakin' great tower crane in and crane every single tree out straight! Up through the canopy! Deliver it to your working area and process! Absolutely fantastic! You'll need to put the civils in place first and maybe crane the tower crane in with another crane but it will be less grief than the landowner wants for himself. OR Heli-Log it all out!!!
  8. It didn't end "thanks Jon" tho. Damn!
  9. Plogs?!
  10. It never really made it clear that softwood planting is in more serious trouble than native tho. More drastically required for both but replacing timber crops with squirrel food is a big
  11. Tractor data has its limitations! Like new data vs ancient tractor. Basically decides whether implement will be plug-in or pto. Thanks re offer...
  12. Yeah soz, £3k to buy when I had a quick search?
  13. Need to quantify the L/min/gpm and psi/bar pressure out the back end of the tractor... Any ideas? Don't really want to part with £3k for a one-off reading... Devon / Cornwall. Thanks.
  14. Fraid knot; maybe I should take a trip away...
  15. Déjà vu. Not into high revving anything but a Husky 254xp in the distance in a winter woodland would win that one for me. RR Merlin in a Spit is obviously a very evocative sound but that's as much the prop as the V12. I've heard some deliciously creamy Yank V8's over the years and I still love the Buick V8 of Rover / TVR fame. Particularly in the P5 and P6. Owned a few 6's and I love the sound of them on tickover. The Y30DT fitted to the Saab 9-5 (aka Isuzu Dmax) had a lovely song to it under pressure. Cummins et al fitted in International 956 etc is another beauty. I even like the warble from the IH D239 / D246 in tractors and forwarders. BUT the absolute winner for me, beyond any comparison is this: Stork Werkspoor (SW Diesel) Straight 8. As fitted to a good number of Beam Trawlers. 800-2000 hp. I'll never forget how the whole hillside above Newlyn reverberated with the sound of the exhaust as the skipper docked the 120' Billy Rowney one night. Likewise the Altje Adrianté on tickover while offloading the catch. The deepest, bassiest, smoothest and richest sound of diesel power you've ever heard.
  16. Codwood?!
  17. If it was just done the right and proven way in the first place all these crazy, labour and machinery intensive ideas would be completely unnecessary. Some people got time and money to burn.
  18. 2.8 motor is supposed to be indestructible... Diesel Bob (UK) Ltd - Good Diesel, Bad Diesel
  19. Good call but she's got competition, just can't remeber who yet!
  20. LOVE it!
  21. Good pictures Slack Here's the same done with Harvester... Rack trees brashed as they were super hairy. Likewise adjacent racks high pruned; dramatically increases subsequent quality. Do a tidy job the right, proven way or don't do it at all.
  22. I had to walk away from this thread and wasn't going to post again. This though is gospel.
  23. What's the difference between a BMW and a Porcupine? Porcupines have pricks on the outside...
  24. Broadcaster or actual individual? Sure as hell WOULDN'T be Laura Kuenssberg.
