  1. I think its been replaced with a programme about wendy richards, who passed away today. Thats what my tv guide is telling me anyway, i was quite looking forward to seeing how "other people work"
  2. They are in the process of revising cs38, and one of the proposed additions is to demonstrate rescue from a pole... i think? I'm sure i will be soon corected if im wrong.
  3. Caught this on the news this morning. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/7911032.stm

  6. Would love to have the chance to operate a piece of kit like that one day my eyes light up when im told i can use are lil 3point linkage crain at work. Cant imagine what i would be like on something like that At the young old age of 18, im sure my time will come thanks for sharing Tom
  7. I am doing the same thing at the moment, are you doing NA Arb? I choose to do, "the history of tree pruning and what techniques are being looked at to use in the future". Only trouble has been finding information and putting it into a assignment format, im not very clever at presentation side of things, but it all makes sense in my head. So far i have just covered natural target pruning cuts and coronet style pruning cuts. Most of this information has just come out of my head from what people have told me over the last year. So havnt done alot of research yet, so dont know how well im going to get on. Fingers crossed il manage. Tom
  8. Great idea, always willing to try new methods
  9. I have a pair of Arblite trousers, there brilliant. I cant compare them against stretch airs as i havnt got enough money for them yet
  10. Love to see old bits of kit in action, very useful im sure. The amount of jobs i can think of were something like that would of made life alot easier.
  11. It isnt used often, but when it does come out its worth every penny. Saves ringing stuff up small, just crane it on big. I think he bought it off a farmer for £350, bargin!
  12. Heres the one we use at work, kind of wish it was mine. Im a unimog fan
  13. What kind of wood you after? Out of interest more than anything. Tom
  14. Is it just me that finds these videos absolutely fascinating!
  15. Thought i would share this with you all. A few friends of mine... [ame] [/ame]
  16. If the retail price is around £500 as your estimating that is a great price for a lowering device like that. We currently use a "homemade/bodged" lowering block at work, and although it does do the job well when your snatching big sections down you cant help but doubt weather it will hold the load or not. Atleast buying something like this which would have been tested, the doubt is gone. Tom
  17. Nice one mate, i've only done abit of hedgelaying at work and i find it very satisfying (sp.) wouldnt mind doing abit more of it, its just the boss hates it Tom
  18. Went with college last year, probably go with a few fellow tree friends this year and make a weekend of it See you there, Tom
  19. There 55k if bought off these people, http://www.alpinetractors.com/commercial_firewood.htm
  20. I'd be willing to pay that for the tshirts, and would probably purchase 2 tshirts in each design. Let me know when there avaliable to buy, im keen to get my hands on some Cheers, Tom
  21. So i got it off google... but it made me chuckle.
  22. Hope im not trying to teach you to suck eggs but... Could always turn the pump up abit, to increase the flow of oil. Take off the guide bar to make sure the oil holes are clear, and whilst thats off just check the oil delivery channel on the saw is clean. Drain the chain oil tank and check the the filter/gauze isnt blocked on the oil pipe. Thats all i can think of, il post more if i think of them, all the best Tom
  23. Hey all, currently in training for my CS32 (medium tree felling) with college. Im pretty confident with it all and seem to be doing ok, felled about 4 trees so far using CS32 methods and all went ok, just wondering if there any tips and advice out there to help me line up cuts correctly etc... and just generally ensure things keep running smoothly. All advice appreciated, Tom
