    We have a really old arc welder, weighs a ton! Only welder i have used and it does a cracking job!

    I assume, if you were badly injured and needing rescue, you could patch yourself up whilst the rescuer gets to you. But if your in need of rescue then your probably pretty screwed, and not going to be in a posistion to apply "first aid" to yourself.

    Big end bearing or something gone in my 90. Gonna replace the engine, got my eye on a few ebay ones atm, need to do it ASAP really as its my main vechial. Then fix and rebuild the old engine and keep as a spare or sell on. As you say john... dont you just love 'em!

    The small TW i used was disc, but the other 2 are deffiently drum.

    A plane is one of the trees i havnt climbed yet, but i know what you mean about there not being branches to throw to, experienced it in plenty of other trees. Installing your line from the ground with a throwline is probably the best option, although not done this much myself. Ive used small slings as false foot holds to shimmy me up the tree abit more to get to a branch. Just take a minute to think, sometimes theres a branch you've "missed" which will be easier to get to. Sounds daft but ive done it myself. ... or just practice your throwing Failing that just bear hug yourself up the tree to the next branch

    Having used the timberwolf and the greenmech, id choose the greenmech anyday! Much better than the timberwolf IMO. By buying a well known brand, yes it costs more but you have dealer back up, parts will be alot easier to come by and they WILL be better enginered.

    Ohdearrr Good winches though These people sell a wireless remote, not sure if it will fit yours. WARN winches are very poplar amoungst offroaders, so most 4x4 places should be able to point you in the right direction http://www.famousfour.co.uk/foursport/winches.php

    Il be alright (famous last words) Got friends with landrover knowledge and experienced people on the end of a phone if need be. Between us we will get it done, part of the reason i bought a landrover was with the aim of doing any maintenance and repairs myself, you only learn one way...

    Ive dragged a 20ft container with a dumper truck, down a road and across a field. Getting going is the hardest part but once it starts to move i didnt stop until it was in place lol No damage to the container, few scratches on the road and a few marks in the field, nothing major though
