  1. Ohdearrr Good winches though These people sell a wireless remote, not sure if it will fit yours. WARN winches are very poplar amoungst offroaders, so most 4x4 places should be able to point you in the right direction http://www.famousfour.co.uk/foursport/winches.php
  2. Do u mean WARN with a big red W? lol not heard of warren and google hasnt chucked anyhting up
  3. Il be alright (famous last words) Got friends with landrover knowledge and experienced people on the end of a phone if need be. Between us we will get it done, part of the reason i bought a landrover was with the aim of doing any maintenance and repairs myself, you only learn one way...
  4. Ive dragged a 20ft container with a dumper truck, down a road and across a field. Getting going is the hardest part but once it starts to move i didnt stop until it was in place lol No damage to the container, few scratches on the road and a few marks in the field, nothing major though
  5. Challenge truck generally use them when winching because they dont have the recoil like steel ones do if they snap and they can run across the top of roll bars alot smoother than a steel wire would, my mates got it on his landrover, and it is very strong. Plasma rope its called, if your looking to buy some shop around, prices vary so much. Easy to splice to, if looked after will last a long time. If i had a winch i would use plasma rope
  6. If they "worked" and found there way down to me, you got a deal lol
  7. Had a mechanic come and look at it today, he said something internal, said the oil pump looked all OK Its a pain... but not overally costly considering... Hoping to get a engine for a maximum of £500 hopefully less, will swap it myself so will save money on that. Then il take my old engine apart and see what was actually wrong, be good to take a landrover engine apart because il probably have to do it again lol Then hopefully build it back up over time, new bits here and there, then il have a spare engine
  8. Its been confirmed, new engine required lol
  9. :thumbup1: Cheers, one of many things i will look at
  10. Im still hoping it is something like you say... lol will investigate fully tommorow and see what i can find.
  11. Where you based? Hmm im not sure, i know theres plenty of converstions out there so it cant be that bad to do, be greatful for any 20tdi engine really, like i say its my main car so im stuck without it really.
  12. Mines a defender, not sure what that engine is, il give him a ring in the morning i think. Now thats tempting, if i did end up buying that id deffiently consider selling those bits on, get some of my money back lol
  13. What do you think of this people? 200 tdi engine & box all ancillaries on eBay (end time 06-Nov-09 18:46:25 GMT) Seems good as its got all the bits and bobs with it which i can keep for spares Gonna try and get to my local (ish) landrover breaker aswell to see if theres a engine i can see running before i buy it.
  14. Im looking for a new engine as we speak, its my main car so im stuck with out it really, fitting it shouldnt be a problem once i get my hands on one.
  15. One of the reasons i went for a 200tdi was the fact engines are cheap and easy to come by like you say, i will have a good route around tomorow and report back with my findings I think i probably thought it was going to be terminal, but was just being the optomist and thinking "just the oil pump" lol In the mean time anyone point me in the direction of a 200tdi engine? lol
  16. Doh! 200tdi How did i forget to write that lol
  17. My trusty mechanic is in hospital with 2 broken legs atm Not had great experiances with other garages around here, hence why im gonna have a good look at finding and fixing the problem myself before i do anything else
  18. That was my first thought, maybe im just being the optomiste in thinking its the oil pump. Why would so much oil be leaking out though?
  19. Ive had this problem to, also if we have a cold night and the saws get cold out in the shed then the chain oil can go real thick and gloopy.
  20. Im hoping he will be along in abit lol
  21. haha i know, still love them though. Just one of those things...
  22. Checked the oil when i got to my mates, it was just above low. Il will top it up though before i attempt to start it again.
