  1. Split 1000's of tons with foot operated splitter, an old pocsh in fact. Fast and efficient, if your a retard you'll chop your fingers off, fortunately I am not one.
  2. Depends who you know, got a friend very good on 'law'. He looks after me, fighted my corner on speeding and parking fines a few times
  3. In short, is this pulley strong enough to use for a make shift friction saver? Cheers
  4. How do I advertise logs? Simple answer is I don't... All word of mouth stuff. Sell out each year though. It's a nice sideline for me along side contract climbing and my own work. Probably do about 5k a year on logs
  5. Ahh just looked under the bonnet, I disconnected a sensor when I replaced the battery last week so I could get a spanner in. Just plugged it back in and lights gone out. Not often it's that easy a fix! Cheers
  6. Anybody know what this light means? Cheers
  7. Your favorite! When you grinding big beech stump in Shapwick?
  8. How longs a piece of string? Depends how big your chip box is it...
  9. Spent years hand balling timber onto the back of a mog. It's good for your shoulders
  10. Sat watching it on TV, sometimes it's good just to chill out and take a minute to remember those who have gone and how lucky we all are. I'm really, really proud to be British. Have a good day boys and girls.
  11. I would have been doing pretty much the same as you when I had a year or so experience. Best thing I ever did was to go self employed (after a few years working for a local company) and work with different companies and climbers. You learn so much, I'm confident to sell my self as a lead climber now rather than second climber. Just never forget your roots and those who gave you a chance. I'm still very very good friends with my previous employers, as without them I wouldn't be where I am now.
  12. Ok we all do things differently but here's my take on it. Pegs, ok so you didn't have spikes to hand so needed them for positioning, fine. But before you chog each section down trim the pegs off, much easier up a tree rather than chasing a log around on the ground, also stops them digging in as they land. Or even better, get spikes and be done away with pegs, pegs are evil things. No need for felling cuts when chogging that size, (have you been watching reg Coates videos ) If the tree is fairly straight, position your self at the 'back' off the tree, do your step cut and then simply push away. Oh and abit of sloppy cutting whilst doing the top, but that's probably my ocd kicking in Job done anyway, well done. Out of interest how long have you been climbing?
  13. They were talking about it on radio 2 the other day. I was going to send in a before an after of the beautiful blue atlas cedar I'd just felled 😃
  14. Just had another one go, it only lasted a week!! I just have to look at it and it breaks. I'm careful when I use it and clip it close when not in use etc. Asked about a new style spring that husqvarna had on display at the apf but dealer had no knowledge of it. Also definitely not under warranty so had to pay for spring. Think I will retire this saw and keep as a spare and buy an ms201t
  15. The one I bought off you ended up somewhere in the pyrenees mountains!
  16. I thought in the case of the OP it was just rear spring
  17. Replaced three now, had to pay for mine??
  18. Anybody off to weston beach race this weekend?
  19. Well new zig zag lasted a couple weeks, crack developed yesterday.
  20. Was a bit of a tester, biggest Ginkgo around, tpo'd, and could only take of minimal amount. Had a few spectators throughout the day! But everyone was happy so all good.
  21. Can't go wrong with Tonger!!
