I work in an office, hence not practical.
1) Helped the lads load up a 20-25cm girth tree by hand, we could not lift it on the truck, it was pointed out, I was standing on the tail end of the rope wound around the rootball to assist lifting. I am not light.
2) A 21ft scaffold pole, scaffold clip at one end. waiting for a team to return late due to the M25, thought I would help by removing the clip. I lifted one end upto make the undoing of the clip easier. I achieved this, but as I did, the scaffold pole fell, onto my toe, in much pain I went home where my brother saw me take off my sock, blood was building up behind the nail, he said leave it to me I can sort this, he heated up a six inch nail, pierced the nail, blood hit the ceiling. Went to A&E cause it was still hurting, they said who did this (relieving the pressure), they could not believe it was a (non medically trained ) brother using a 6" nail. It was end of a shift, all of A & E came to see as well as all of the new shift. Went home, (with broken big toe) told by brother, he then revealed he had only ever read about it.
