  1. Only silly ideas! 1) Wait till next ice age moves it 2) If shorter let it rot down over next 20 years 3) Find a part of the army that needs to blow something up 4) Tell time team there is a Saxon Hill Fort under it. 5) Get one of those tree surgeons who massively undercuts everyone to quote to do it.
  2. We are delighted to help with trees planted in the wrong location. Use a Tree Spade, move it! If it is only just planted it should be easy to move without a Tree Spade. If you want advice on moving contact me.
  3. For quoting (too fat and lacking in talent to have ever climbed) Waterproof pad and pen - got in in early March, hasn't rained since, had to check it out in the sink!
  4. Prunus padus, there is also a variety with more/bigger flowers watereri
  5. Any colour as long as it not long sleeved ! Worked on a site for all last summer where due to risk of sunburn, long sleeved hi viz and long trousers to top it all had to wear hard hats even though zero risk. When it turned really hot, insisted in our RAMS for 10 mins break every half hour to find shade and rehydrate, due to inappropriate PPE site rules. Good old day rates
  6. We use New Pig Ltd: Absorbents, Spill Control & Handling & Plant Safety Products
  7. or a bristol, oh too late
  8. I think my wife has been infected by a fungus. Her whole existence is driven by an uncontrollable urge to spend my money, usually on tat. Come to think of it, it may be me with the fungus letting her get away with it.
  9. support the uk markets - have you seen the price differentials, car makers call(ed) us the treasure island. support the uk markets when they charge a fair price
  10. IF you get towable stuff, not only the lights need changing but often the braking system needs attention and check out tyre dealers in East Anglia for american tyres (or any near USAF bases) , our tree surgeons brought some chippers over when the main dealer in this country was asking silly money for 18" chippers. Rock and Dirt is one hell of a read for all mechanical stuff.
  11. <----- Should have used one of these !!!
  12. Heard Tony Kirkham from Kew talk about OPM (and show us the scars!). He had great pictures of the problem in Belgium of the public health issues got so great, the army were called in with their flame throwers to burn them out of trees. There is a man who has a machine that is straight from ghostbusters, that you put the nest in it and it zaps it. It is from Spain and Portugal (I recall ?), over there apparently they just shut the forests, when they are out and about. He told us that at Kew there were allowed to use a broad spectrum insecticide as the downside of killing everything was outweighed by the public health issues, apparently they vacuumed Kew Road with asbestos hoovers to collect the hairs!!
  13. Lee Suggest not Frisia, there is an unidentified problem with them in the south, they are dropping like flies. We no longer offer them.
  14. Using search all terms then putting in negative keywords made it much better for us.
  15. When you give directions to your teams using trees one from last week i.e. off at Poplar roundabouts, ... second left after macrocarpa and the house has a Holly in the front garden.
  16. Just sent one our our teams to Ireland they insist on taking their own spades and shovels (quite expensive as hold baggage), they are just not used to working with Irish types. 'our' spades and shovels cannot be purchased in Ireland. Dekko is the biggest hort supplier in Ireland.
  17. Sycamore reduction how much ? Only one answer 100%, fell and grind
  18. R.i.p.
  19. Try TMA TMA bark supplies - Specialists in the processing and distribution of bark and mulches for the horticulture, landscape and leisure market throughout the British Isles. 01362638441
  20. Screw Piles are tiny. We Air Spaded holes in a back 'garden' in central ldn. The garden was a mature London Plane, not so much within the root zone as right up against the trunk!! We found gaps in the root system for the screw piles. The TO was delighted!
  21. Worked for many. One 'pop star' world famous, man of the people type, did not like the sight of people working on his estate and we had to hide in the bushes each time his chauffeur driven car had passed else we'd be kicked off the job.
  22. Whereabouts are you?
  23. Gollum Is your faced blacked out because you pushed it and it fell over ?
  24. Wind farms are an example of excellent lobbying . They do not work on very cold days or hot days (high pressure = no wind) . They only generate a % of what they claim. Renewable energy should be 24x7, i.e. geo thermal, wave / tide. Wind farms blight beautiful landscapes.
  25. You should be able to get tree size info, if you need any help with the handling, especially the bigger sizes please contact me.
