I have not had to repair/re-lay stone or rebuild the banks before, as most farmers grumble about the price as it is. Generally when the bank has disapeared it is just re-planted. The only new banks are built when new roads are built, and then they are built using top soil which causes them to colapse once the organic matter has rotted out. I am thinking that it might be a convolvulus hawkmoth catterpillar, as they can vary in colour from apple green to purplish brown.
