I slept through the whole thing then drove to work in my mk1 Escort through a scene of utter devastation. Got as near as three miles from work and had to abandon the car due to a fallen Beech and walk the rest. How things have changed since then eh TCD, now everyone has chippers, full ppe and top of the range climbing gear. Back then the only bit of ppe available was a pair of cheapo builders gloves that didn't fit properly and three strand rope n prussik with a poxy harness.....

It's my back I'm getting worried about, it hurts like hell in the morning, okay once I get working but I wonder how long it last. Another seventeen years if the government have anything to do with it, they've pushed my retirement age up to sixty seven.... All my working life I've been looking forward to knocking it on the head at sixty five.....

I like Mark Bolams so I'm gonna copy that..... Leave my chipper alone, you just don't know how to get the best out of her Paul..... Been winching out connie stumps today so we had a fair amount of tools and it was bliss to have that crewcab to put em all in. Still had room for a pushbike or two John.

I've got one of these to try out. The saw is pretty good but the scabbard is a bit of a let down. The fast draw test saw the Silky out of it's scabbard the quickest.....

Rollers give next to no resistance and are for trackside warming up, just to get the legs spinning really. Two hours today, tailwind out and was dreading the return trip but I punched into the wind like a steam train, loved every second of it. No doubt cos I'm well rested from having this week off work. -
