  1. I have the 275p and think its a good little machine for the size and weight. £3000 sounds like a bargain.
  2. I know but why start talking about money before you've shown what you're actually capable of. Imo you should go in on a days trial, prove what you think you're worth then talk money at the end of it. I've had far to many blokes say "I can do this and I can do that and I want x amount per day" but when it comes to the crunch they can't do half of what they say and tbh it gets right up my nose so from now on I tell em what I think they're worth at the end of the day and if they dont like it then tough, bugger off!!!
  3. Aint no wonder. Why mention money? What you should do is go to work for a days trial and let the boss tell you what you're worth.
  4. You must be mad for not charging. A little extra chucked in on a job 'while you're there' is one thing but five hours and £30 in fuel is another. A pocket full of thankyou's wont buy you much.
  5. Yeah I understand what you're saying but what I am saying is that after x amount of years in any game everyone slips up at some point. It's great to be full of beans when you start off in a new venture but as the years roll on it's a cert that you'll slip up at some stage.
  6. With respect youre very new to this game and in twenty odd years from now I'll bet a pound to a penny you will have a let a few people down for one reason or another.
  7. No I dont know him from Adam but as an example I have a major problem at the mo and forgot all about pricing a job today for a regular customer and they rang to find out where I was. I explained my predicament and they were fine about it. So what I am saying is dont be too hasty to judge people as there is usually a good reason if they are worth their salt.
  8. Give the bloke a chance, maybe he's busy cos he's good at what he does. We all fall behind sometimes.
  9. Shock horror!!!!!! It's Andy in a bloody dress...........you've slipped up and let the cat out the bag Andy.........crossdresser.
  10. Nice one Toby, I'll chip in on some for Justin and Richard.....
  11. Just buy a bloody sawpod end of.
  12. I'm taking down my ferret run soon, they've pissed n **** all over it so it looks Moroccan to me and the smell will add a little ambience. Mmmmm that musky Moroccan smell.......
  13. I got some old pallets you could stain......Pricey though:001_tt2:
  14. Brown Ale it is then..........Bloody heathens:001_tt2:
  15. I've got a portaloo but there is no way I'm gonna let you lot use it after a night on the beer.. Count me out on the loo hire.
  16. Count me in Justin. Well done for organising it:thumbup1:
  17. One poxy spud does'nt constitute a 'stove cooked dinner'. Where's the bloody protein?
  18. Yeah I do mind, obviously the fella that fell hadnt practised with it and now people are put off from using it and so they'll carry on climbing on out of date methods. Pure madness imo. When I switched over I went out on my own on Sunday mornings and got used to it without any pressure on me to 'get the job done' and now I would never go back to prussiking. Oh well, let em get on with it.
  19. This thread is getting a bit ridiculous! Anyone that cant get to grips with a VT must be a bit simple in the head. Why some people insist on making life hard for themselves and climb on old fashioned and outdated methods is beyond me. 11.7 Tachyon, Armor Prus and three wraps and it bites everytime and I weigh close on 15 stone.
  20. I employ free lancers and personally I could'nt careless what tattoo's they have so long as they can do the job. I think it is really bad when people judge a book by it's cover. Having said that I know there are plenty of snobs out there that will look down their nose at you for having your hands and neck tattoo'ed.
  21. Bad news but I would'nt call it a VT failure. More like climber failure, ie failed to dress the hitch before sitting back. Trying to roll over a limb that you're anchored to and failing to do so then sitting back without checking the hitch is asking for trouble. Let's not start putting people off the VT, used properly it's unbeatable.
