  1. Even when D wooding we always let the local TO know . So when joe public phones up to complain they are already aware of what works being carried out . We have in the past removed dangerous limbs and taken a photo as evidence of the hazard .
  2. Your right there if I look at the work from a workers point of veiw I suppose I would say no loads more. People who know me cant believe I,m such a push over at work . I will put some of your wisdom into action as of from monday . Cheers Paul .
  3. I only have a problem with those berberis shrubs . They make me sneeze and my eyes water really bad . Sometimes they effect my breathing
  4. Well I made a stand this wkend . Feel better for it . I still find it hard to say no to customers . Keep smiling until 10am and the rest of the day will sort itself out . Read this some where may be on here .
  5. Another thought provoking thread . I like it . Ive tried to cut down the hours and do a 3 /4 day week . Always get snowed under though and then Ive got a back log . Which normally means wkend work . Got my weight down from 13st 8 lb to 12 st 9 lb after reading the ( how much do you weigh thread ) . So I,m going to start a gymnastic course after crimbo . Ive done a bit of stretching with them and it seems to have helped my shoulders problems . 11st here I come .

  7. That sounds like a idea which I am warming to . In the RB 44 we had a few years ago the heaters were crap. Somebody brought a little gas stove in and we sat it on the engine cover in the cab . Stupid I know but when its freezing you,ll try most things to get warm . End result headaches all round Oh morning mr Leach .

  9. I,ll look into that at the weekend .A friend has got a night heater from a truck hopefully that might do the trick . thanks for that:thumbup: Some decent door seals might help .lol
  10. Its just habit now . I gaffed out years ago and was only using my flip line . Anyway that little stubb saved me . Since then I have adopted a much safer practice .Any how I still do leave the odd peg . Depends on the tree if theres no branches to cut off I will have no pegs . Its the truth . I could of just said I have a unique style of climbing
  11. Yes yes and yes I can deal with them all apart from the cold . It takes about 8 miles before the cab warms up And I normally work about in and around my own town

  16. Cheers for all the info . Gearbox 1st were 2nd is sounds interesting . Think my legs will not get to cramped as I,m only a short arse 5,8 " . I can understand it getting overloaded with a big bed . That was my plan but like you said t sounds like I will be forking off chip to make it tip . thanks again .
  17. If its a large stick or pole I leave a few pegs . I always leave them on the same side directly above each other maybe 6 / 7 ft apart .

  19. Hi you lot any body got one of these trucks . If so can I have some info good bad I want to hear it all . I,m after the 3.5 tonne tipper . Getting a few old big trees to take down at the mo . It breaks my heart but if I dont remove them somebody else will . Cheers

  25. Milling brings back some memories some painfull .lol setting up the old wooden bench to form a ring . 1 minute seems to last forever .
