  1. No worries Liam . It just takes a bit of time and before you know it you will be sick of all the small trees and be cravin the big uns like Gavin off here . Glad your getting better . I,m just starting to try and make things a bit less of a strain . I tryed the pulley behind the blakes on a decent birch the other day quite liked it . I even had a play at our yard on a Ash tree using the hand over hand realy liked it again . Only prob was the massive pulley I used . So I am investing a few hundred quid on new kit cams pulleys .
  2. Thanks very much wirecore flip line it is . Well tbh a fellow tree worker uses one and has done for a while . He comes from a climbing back ground ( industrial ) rope access and he loves it . I better tell him what steve said . cheers Matty
  3. Yeah valid point there as the cams are quite serated . Ok for hauling up a big saw . So all good for a wire core flip line .

  5. Surely the ropeman mk2 rope grab would be ok as a positioner with a stopper knot . Or am I just waiting to get laughed off this thread . Please be gentle as I,m just coming out of the prussic age

  7. Cost of the eddy may be a factor . It is a lot bigger and heavier than the cinch . Why not use petzl grigri . Getting my cinch after crimbo and loads of other new goodies well excited . Anybody use the wild country ropeman mk 1 or 2 as a positioner .
  8. You could just get a swing check pulley from Treeworker £13 / 15 . Its rated at 35 kn which is 10 kn more than the art one

  14. Plastic fantastic . The Tree:lol: A fellow tree worker had a real Christmas tree 2 yrs ago . About 3 days after he bought it his missus found loads of tiny mites all over the window sill .

  19. Yes I quite agree . Although as said before if youve not been trained to deal with situations like this . And its suddenly brought on you surely instinct would kick in to protect your loved ones . Some will go into shock some will feel fear and nearly all men I know would react with violence . I,m not praising his actions but family pain knives = Big Reaction . And I for one tip my hat to you sir .
