  4. If I,m right arent they the large rings which fit around the trunk . You have one for each foot and work like a cam principle. You basically walk up the trunk and dont do any damage . They use them abroad on big palms and the like . You might find a vid on you tube .

  7. I think hedge cutting is far worse for white finger . Also Tree work in general just makes you fall to bits. But when its good its amazing

  9. Yeah we got Piriteze syrup in the first aid box . Works for Hayfever Wasp stings and Rashes itching . Becareful though it can make you feel tired . Its classed as a Allergy syrup . I had to have steroid cream once for small blisters on my head . Doctors said it could be to do with birds mess .

  11. Even when D wooding we always let the local TO know . So when joe public phones up to complain they are already aware of what works being carried out . We have in the past removed dangerous limbs and taken a photo as evidence of the hazard .

  13. I only have a problem with those berberis shrubs . They make me sneeze and my eyes water really bad . Sometimes they effect my breathing
  14. Well I made a stand this wkend . Feel better for it . I still find it hard to say no to customers . Keep smiling until 10am and the rest of the day will sort itself out . Read this some where may be on here .
  15. Another thought provoking thread . I like it . Ive tried to cut down the hours and do a 3 /4 day week . Always get snowed under though and then Ive got a back log . Which normally means wkend work . Got my weight down from 13st 8 lb to 12 st 9 lb after reading the ( how much do you weigh thread ) . So I,m going to start a gymnastic course after crimbo . Ive done a bit of stretching with them and it seems to have helped my shoulders problems . 11st here I come .

  17. That sounds like a idea which I am warming to . In the RB 44 we had a few years ago the heaters were crap. Somebody brought a little gas stove in and we sat it on the engine cover in the cab . Stupid I know but when its freezing you,ll try most things to get warm . End result headaches all round Oh morning mr Leach .

  20. Its just habit now . I gaffed out years ago and was only using my flip line . Anyway that little stubb saved me . Since then I have adopted a much safer practice .Any how I still do leave the odd peg . Depends on the tree if theres no branches to cut off I will have no pegs . Its the truth . I could of just said I have a unique style of climbing
  21. Yes yes and yes I can deal with them all apart from the cold . It takes about 8 miles before the cab warms up And I normally work about in and around my own town
